I made this for my daughter for a wedding quilt. She is getting married in April. I sewed it at a quilt retreat this weekend. I drew it up on eq6 and figured the math for the size using the charts with the pattern. It was supposed to be queen size however, it turned out to be over 120 inches wide. There are 7 stripes. I am going to have to remove at least one stripe. I am pleased with how it came out though. This message has been edited. Last edited by: glassnquilts,
Since queen beds are 60" wide you did get carried away! Better too much! I love having pillowcases to match so I'd use the extra braid to trim the edges. Makes a great way to store the quilt too. Lucky girl! You're done so early! My DD got hers for their first anniversary gift. Evelyn
It is beautiful but before you remove the strip, double check the width of her bed. We have a pillowtop queen which is high off the floor and I have to use a king size comforter to have one that fits. I think mine is 110" wide.
That quilt is absolutely beautiful. I have to double what darn75 (Deb) said. Be sure to measure the width of the bed it will be used on. Our bed is high off the floor too & need a lot to get a spread/quilt to have enough width to hang off the sides.
I love the colors & am also so impressed that you figured out the math. How are you going to quilt it?

I tried it out on my queen size bed and it hangs down way too far and I haven't even put a border on it. As far as quilting it, I am not sure yet. I am thinking about putting it on my longarm sideways so the design follows the stripes. Maybe feathers would be good.

Beautiful quilt - does she know she's getting it or is it a surprise? You did a fantastic job and did you say you made it in a weekend? Whoa that's a lot of work..... def use the extra for coordinating accessories!
