Only 2 registrations came today. I hope that doesn't mean the mail man is gonna dump a bunch on me on Monday - oh wait. It's Columbus Day. That means I'm gonna get a million of those babies on Tuesday. Well, I guess I know what I am going to be doing all day...

How will room registrations be handled?

I'll bring up the dreaded subject....what's the situation with smokers? I can't be the only one. If I am, I'm a considerate smoker; I can use electronic cigarettes.

What is the smoking situation in the area?

How do we sign up for s smoking room at the hotel?

How do we find roommates? I've seen people ask for them on the board before but I'm just wondering if people begin pairing up right away.

I had some other questions but I've lost them...you understand, don't you? lolllll

As soon as registration ends and I know (pretty well) how many will be attending I will give the hotel info. One of the committee will handle pairing people who need to find room mates.

You are NOT the only one who has that (nasty) habit, you are in good company. But bad news for you smokers though, there are NO smoking rooms. You MIGHT be able to ask for a room with a balcony or a patio however.

Ask away - I might have answers...

Is there anything that we, who are not going to retreat, can be doing or collecting here at home for the retreat...like the alum. pop caps that SavedSinnr had us sending in, etc.?

Please tell us what we can be doing to help.

Sad news Ladies -- another person has had to drop out. I know many of us were looking forward to seeing cuilteanna (expatquilter) again but she has just informed me that it won't be able to happen in June.

So that means ears2u is now off the wait list and must have her money and registration forms to me by Nov 3. Please and thank you Smile

Ahh, Sandie I just think that we at home can be a part of the retreats even tho we can't attend. I've found that if I help out in a small way here at home I actually feel like I'm a retreater too when the time comes. These retreats take a TON of work to put together & make it all happen & I know that the hostess can use each one who wants to help.

Take a look in your welcome bag & see all the little things that were donated. Didn't you just get a thrill pulling out little items that someone made and/or donated for you? We at home could make an item or two for the welcome bags or maybe make a door prize to be given away.

It's just me...I love doing for other people when I can.

Sad news my DD GAQuilter2 will not be going to the retreat! Frown Turns out she has concert tickets in the middle of the retreat, non refundable, and did not put it on my calendar, so neither of us remembered. This was a lesson for her to put stuff on the calendar! So the next person can come on up! Big Grin

I am still going! Would not miss it! She is going to a "one Direction" Concert With some friends and yes I was invited, we, the moms, were not letting the girls go alone, but we were going to eat ourselves silly at one of the restaurants at the CNN center while the concert was going on, so I did not buy a ticket and the other moms can handle 3 teen girls! I hope! LOL! Big Grin

YES! I can't say enough how fun the last row robin was and I'm so excited for this one! Please go and sign up! After you do your own row, there's no restrictions on the rest of the rows - they can be pieced, appliqued, combination, traditional blocks, original blocks, etc. It's a lot of fun!

Of my 10 days in 2012...
4 with BFFs on a cruise - no DH
2 in Branson and even though DH came with me...it's still not much a vacation for 'us'.
That leaves only 4 days for a real family vacation and we're even breaking those days.

2 days this Thursday in Mt. View Arkansas with a side trip to Branson to use the two show tickets he won.

The remaining 2 I'm saving for when my DS can come to visit in November or December.

So...I told DH that my vacation time was all his next year. We've got 2-3 days in College Station for an Aggie reunion...and some days in Colorado for vacation. I'm hoping to snag a day or two during the holiday season for home time.

Because in 2014 - there's another BFF cruise scheduled. Big Grin
