That IS beautiful! Is it done on Monks cloth? And what are you going to do with it? The Monks cloth I have is VERY loosely woven and is great for pillows but Im not sure what else. Thanks for showing it.

Thank you! I was hoping the others would post their pieces as well. Shauna prepared Aida cloth for us to try on. I do have some Monks cloth that Ambher found at Joanns I want to try some type of Christmas design on it. The aidia is very stiff cloth and the monks is very soft and the weave is nice. You don't see stitching from the back on the Aida either. Really nice projects, Kim!

Ladies such BEAUTIFUL work! Awesome! Looks like it was a great class!
I was in line behind a lady at JoAnns a few weeks ago that was purchasing some of the cloth for Swedish weaving...I had never heard of it...of course I was immediately interested Roll Eyes all I need is another interest!
After seeing your pieces I am even MORE interested!! TFS

This Swedish weaving looks remarkably like what my grandmother used to do when she made her guest handtowels for the bathroom. Wish I knew what kind of fabric she used. (I want to @#@!#@$# with whoever got rid of her towels when she passed away).

She most likely used Huck Toweling

Never worked with it, i prefer the Monks cloth..which has approx. 7 stitches per inch. (bigger for my old eyes!) and you use yarn.

Precious came to spend the night last nite and didn't bring her big project ... She had to teach her G'ma how to do the Swedish weaving, and then decided she wanted to play, so she made herself this bookmark, and used her own pattern! She's so very talented ... and Crafty... she made a GREAT teacher! Big Grin

Kudos for Precious.

Kim thanks, the huck toweling does look like what my grandmother used. However the toweling colors were light green, pale yellow, pale peach, pale blue, etc. I loved them and thought they were so unique. Shame I do not know where they went.

Hi PattyJ. Now why did you put a knot in Sister Sues' project? Do I have to keep an eye on you now? LOL!! Miss you.

Granny your place mat is gorgeous! And Precious did really well. I knew she would. She's an artist in the making. Someone should get that girl a cross stitch kit!!!

You all have done well!! Pleas keep posting pictures and I really hope you try making something else! You all have the basics now. You can do it. Smile

Found a nice Swedish Weaving piece, 16x16, today at a charity resale shop. It caught my eye as is so attractive, and now b/c of your class, I was able to identify the proper name. The back side is not as neatly finished as presented in the class, but now it's even more appreciated. It's an overall three color design, and skips just one row throughout. No pics tho; possibly later.
