the 2013 Rose Parade coverage was better than 2012 BUT those three guys were so annoying! They talked over all the bands and did not give us pertinent information. I also recorded and watched RFDTV and ABC coverage and they were both better than HGTV. I watched HGTV because of no commercials (and it used to be good!) but not next year. I will watch ABC or RDTV even with commercials!

I watched Family Channel - they did a pretty good job. There was a hour program before the parade showing more closely the floats. Agree that I was very disappointed in HGTV coverage last year, that's why I watched elsewhere this year.

5 Years ago we saw the floats being made and knowing what they are like close up really makes watching the parade more enjoyable.

my philosophy: there are no real mistakes in quilting, just design opportunities!!

I was out there a few years ago for the parade and at that time I was wearing flip flops and a sleeveless t-shirt and was so hot. Looked to me like everyone was freezing out there today.... sure hopes it warms up soon as I will be out there for a week come Jan 19th!

Watched most of it on HGTV but switched to the Hallmark channel and they did a rerun of the production and I got to see the first part that I missed because I fell asleep. The replay had commercials, so I guess the first program probably did too.

Miss the gardening people of earlier broadcasts... Chris

I think I watched it on CBS. Loved this year's theme.

I really liked the Marine Corp band, the Michigan band, and the Korean 'band' - that was a neat surprise.

The Stanford band ... I did not like it at all...made me wonder of the band members locked the band director in a closet back on campus so that they could do it their way.

The best was the float dedicated to the military dogs and the soldier who got to surprise his wife and son who "won" tickets to the parade.

And watching everyone stand for the military every time they passed by. Smile Does a heart good.

Nicki - It has gotten cold much earlier this year. I have even had a birdbath freeze over already!

Summers are just this side of hell, but you don't have to shovel sunshine...
