Welcome to the 2012 Stashbusting Thread.

I am Gonesewin and I will be starting a new thread for each month for everyone to post pictures (If at all possible) or tell about your stashbusting efforts. It does NOT have to be quilting! This can be any kind of sewing!

There are just 2 rules to join us: what you make make should be mostly from stash and it should be finished during the month you post it as finished. There are no signups, or swapping or... Just this thread. Everyone is welcome!

cksvett has graciously volunteered to send out surprises each month. Your name will be entered each month when you show or tell us about your stashbusted project. On the first of the month when I start a new thread, someone from my family will draw a name and the winner will be posted on that new thread. If your name is drawn please send your mailing information to cksvett so your surprise can be mailed to you.

New This Year ! Royalboomer has graciously volunteered some of her "extras" as prizes too! So what I am going to do is this: Those who finish bigger projects or do multiples of 5 smaller items from stash will also be put into a separate drawing and one will be awarded a prize from Royalboomer each month!

Cool Beans, huh?

SEW, let the stashbusting continue!

I finished this snap bag yesterday for my daughter to carry with her to prom. The fabric is from stash and the beading is one of the straps I cut to fit the dress to her.

Very elegant looking snap bag! My carpenter star quilt was all from stash. I have one more project to complete from last year, but it was not from stash so most likely this will be the only one I can post here this month! Forgot to say, this is Judy Laquidara's pattern and is quilted very similar to her current feather class that she is hosting over at Patchwork Times.

In between making cushion covers I managed to make me a small bag. Got tired of my heavy purse and I just kept cramming stuff into it, so I down sized. Just room for the wallet (picture in next post, my phone, and any LITTLE things I need for the day. My reg. purse will be in the trunk just in case there is something I just might need!!

Also made the "Fat Sack" bag. Used it the other day and need to make about 6 more I think. They are great for groceries!!

And open. All of these are from stash, but I will never get it used up if I don't quit buy pieces at yard sales.

Got to figure out how to get the avatar smaller. Anyone have instructions?

Great start this month everyone.

Goaskmom the wallet is great. I really need a new one, but what do you do with the change? Or do you just throw it on the bottom of your purse, like I usually end up doing as the place that holds it in my wallet is torn and the change never stays in it... Chris

I thought that was what the bottom of my purse was for Smile AND when it gets heavy I know it is time to clean out the purse. Very cool purse and wallet though, I like that one a lot. I use a wonder wallet for all my punchcards for various places but my leather wallet is getting tired.

Love the wallet!

Remember all the black & white triangle units I had left over from the orca bay mystery? Well, I did something with them. Now all the pieces have been used up! Long enough for a twin bed, but not as wide as I'd like it. The lime green has froggies on it!

Beautiful projects, amazing job on everything too! I just LOVE that fat sack. I just have to make one of those soon.

Well all I managed to use up from my stash was a couple of fat quarters & some trims that I had stashed away. Made 3 of those oven door dresses. Made one for 2 of my sisters & made one for a friend.

Wow, great projects.

I did manage to finish the baby afgan for my DD, and have her baby quilt quilted, just putting on the binding now. ( have to frog a bit of it) using a scrappy binding. It looks really cute.

Babysat my GD last night & she wanted me to make some clothes for her monkey (her current bed buddy) I had never done this before. She picked out some flannel. We made a PJ top last night & she was happy with it. Now I have to make matching PJ bottoms. It will take me forever to use up my stash when I use so little at a time. I need to start something big.

Great job everyone!!!!

Does it count as stash busting to give a little of my stash to some of my HGTV buddies at lunch today??

If so, I have done some stash busting today!!! If any of the rest of you stash busters want to visit me here in Ohio, you may go home with some of my stash!!

City/Sandy,
Thanks for asking about me, that was so nice. I have been really busy at work and have gotten involved in a couple other things - so have been pretty busy. but I do love to come here and read what you are all up to; such great inspiration from you all.

I do intend to get back into quilting very soon and become an active member of the boards again.

Thanks again for asking about me.
