Had intended this as a summer project (of course, I thought it would be last summer, not this one, but better late than never, right?). Pieced the top this week and wanted to say a big Thank You to the fabulous hostesses and all the ladies who contributed their time, talent and fabric in the CYOC String Block and Holiday Coin/Nickel swaps in 2011 (including my daughter, "Susarina" who did the border).

Yes, those coins are nifty to have around--you can cut them into 2 1/2" squares for leaders and enders, use as coins for a piano border or as a braid! I think a braid is my next use of the coins. See B. Hunter's website for the Texas Braid.
