I've been a member of this forum for about a year and a half and just realize what someone's board name really is. I tend to be a fast reader and must just glace over some names and words. For all that time I've been reading "gonesewin" as "goosewain"! I don't know what made me realize my mistake today, but I did. I also don't know what goosewain would have meant so you'd think I would have looked closer in all this time! LOL

I wonder how many other weird names I've
invented for the rest of you!!!

Sorry, and I'll try to read slower.

I am not gonesewin, but your post made me laugh. I made the same mistake one time. I was on a message board about weight loss and one of the participant's screen name was "butiful." I wondered why someone posted how nice the name was because I had read it as butt - full instead of beautiful! Hey - it was a weight loss group!!!!

I kept trying to make goaskmom rhyme with Ghost Mom for over a year, before I saw the three words.

Kay-lin, I used to read goaskmom as goatsmom. One day I looked at it better(maybe I was trying to type her name.LOL) and saw what it really said. How funny is that.

I had to chuckle, too, because at the retreat several people mentioned that I was 'more mature' than they had thought because they had read my name as a terrible 2's mom instead of trouble 2's mom, which is my daughter's nickname. She's a 30-something.

I don't think I've made mistakes on people's names but for the past week I've been going nuts trying to figure out what the 'foot swap' tisme has been hosting is about. I figured out it was 'food' but it comes back as 'foot' every time I see it.

Ohhhh, I take that back. I'm guilty of thinking trble2ssmom was 'terrible'.

Some of these mistakes are downright funny.

I not only called you Terrible 2's Mom, but I always pictured you with twin boys. Smile

When I first starting coming to this board, there were threads for string quilts and Warm Wishes quilts, and others. For the first few weeks, I saw threads for QWL (Quilts with Love) quilts and thought it said owl. I thought, "Gee, these people really specialize. There's even a group that makes quilts with owls on them."

What a good laugh with my morning coffee. So glad I'm in good company and not the only one that has renamed people accidentally. ROFL
