When I saw your post I thought of something and figured it was already in your post. Could you use it to give some body and strength to a wallhanging. To keep the edges from curling up. Does that make sense to anyone??

How about making some Roman Shades from them? There are lots of tutorials on the web showin how to do it. Here are a few:

Would the slats work for snap bags in place of using metal measuring tape?

What about using to press for make pleats (if they were metal!!!)?

not sewing, but you could use them for plant markers...cut them, write the name of the plant, stick in the ground...

While not for sewing, you can use them as row markers for your garden.

Thanks for sharing the sites for the blind make-overs to Roman shades. I just wish I had known this a couple of weeks ago before I threw out several discolored blinds. Next time I will know better.

Thanks for all the suggestions, after trimming the new blinds in our old house I have about 200 plastic slats!

Patty J - that's a good idea, just encase them in the binding.

nlk - aren't the roman shades gorgeous? Thanks for the links. It's certainly a wonderful solution for replacing old blinds!

Pvillelou - I"m not sure about the snap bags, I flexed a slat a few times and it didn't want to keep snapping back, it creased. The metal ones would probably work great but I have the cheap plastic ones Wink

nancy & KC - you're trying to make me work, lol. no garden here but I'm willing to pass them along in exchange for a few tomatoes, lol.

How about for the 'stay' for thread catcher? Like Sewlove2quilt did for PJ party. I've seen lots of different things used for these...used hose from home use air concentrator, packing strapping, and kitty litter bucket zip strip...to name a few.
