I just finished my first twister quilt, it measures 12 1/2" x 15", each twister block finishes at 1". While I was on vacation I saw one of these made in a quilt shop. They told me there was no pattern yet and it was made with the Itty Bitty Twister template from Primitive Gatherings. They were kind of enough to let me take a photo. So with photo and template in hand I came home and gave it a try. Happy, happy, happy.

fleur55 did u use the rotating mat to cut your squares? i tried it once with dancing around the table and found it awkward. thought i would try it with a small rotary cutter and the rotating mat.

I do have a photo of the original quilt, it's on my phone. I will transfer it and post it in a bit.

Mandy after sewing the 2 1/2" sqs together the piece was to large to use the rotating mat for the template cut. I used a 18mm cutter and just stretched across the piece. A little awkward but not too bad. I difinetly would not try a bigger project using the itty btty template.

May, this is the only photo I have and I almost forgot to take one as you can see. The original squares and border were 2 1/2". The quilter who made the original quilt said her pattern was scheduled to be published in a few months.

I usually skip the discussions about twister quilts but somehow the "Itty Bitty" part of the title of this one caught my eye. That's a real cutie - and timely too with the fourth of July right around the corner. Big Grin

Very nice, Fleur! If you want to see a twister flag made using 5" squares, check out the HGTV Twister photo album in my signature.

Over the past year or so - so many of us have made Twister quilts and projects that I'd love to make a whole photo folder of all of them (over at the HGTV facebook page so that people can look through all of them)

Would you mind if I included this one and of course I will credit you. Wink thanks!
