This is our weekly thread where we post our goals. Goals can be as simple or complicated as you want, they're your goals. A lot of us have found that if we write down our goals, we're more likely to meet them.

My goal for this week was to make 2 more ruffly scarves, and I made 4 more! I'm going to keep this week's goals simple- I have to work late Tuesday night (parent conferences), Wednesday is my birthday, Thursday if Valentine's Day. So my goal for this week is two more scarves.

What is your goal for this week?

This may appear twice as I used a trigger work in the last one and it is being reviewed by admin. I'm still working on the Super Bowl Sunday Mystery Quilt on about.com. Have all cutting and preliminary sewing done. Time to assemble it now. Had a brief visit and subsequent difficulties that have slowed me down. Hope to finish it this week.

oh! it's Friday, isn't it?

Well, I would like to get my rows for the two RR I am in done. I don't know my work schedule yet so I'm not sure if I'll be able to do more or not...

I am going to quilt my cousin's quilt. I did get the string Christmas quilt all pieced but, I didn't have the red I needed for the border, so I had to order some. I am now also working on a 30's string quilt that is another old UFO. My quilt guild has a UFO challenge and the string quilts were both on my list. My mistake to put both on for the first three months. I don't know what I will finish but this thread sure does help me to try. And, I love seeing everyone's projects they are working on too.

last week I wanted to get some organizing done. Didn't happen. I did manage to get some more of my purse done, and some more oven aprons done. I was just given some sewing/quilting items yesterday, so plan on cutting those scraps up, check out the 2 new to me rotary cutters, try out the new to me ruler and see what I can come up with.

Didn't get my last week's goals complete - I have about 20 more rows to do on the knit baby blanket. Since I didn't get another Sylvia block done last week, I'm aiming for 2 next week Smile I'm going to kit up 4 - 5 blocks over the weekend and work on my DH's quilt border blocks.

Question - These border blocks are similar to a piano key/delectable mountain block and the strips are 1" wide when finished. How would you press them? Open? All to one side? alternating? I'm sure this one will have to go to a longarm quilter - it's a bit bigger than a queen.

I have a quilt on the quilt frame. Started quilting it last evening. I wont get back to it till Monday as I have a baby shower to give tomorrow and will have to visit mom at rehab on Sunday.

This is the quilt that I will be working on. It is a QOV quilt that is a replacement of one that was stolen last November at an awards ceremony for AL's veterans of the year. It will be a custom quilt job not just an all over design.

I didn't quite get last weeks goals finished but did get some done. The applique block got done, the embroidery block is partially done, and I only got 2 spool pin doilies made (hoped for 3 or 4). But that's OK, there is no deadline for any of them except the spool pin doilies and that is 2 weeks away.

This week I probably won't accomplish much. DH and I will be traveling home from our time in FL and will stop for a visit with DS on the way. I plan to finish the hand embroidery in the car. I'm really missing piecing something on the machine so hope to do some after we get home and unpack. Probably will be working on blocks for DGD's quilt that the applique blocks are for. Also I hope to make a few more spool pin doilies.

I didn't make any goals the last couple weeks,so I did not accomplish a thing. Frown My goals for this week are to finish up a pr@yer quilt, got the top done. Plus, I have a number of non sewing/crafty things started, that I need to get some of them done too. Either not enough hours in the day, or not enough motivation for me. Frown

This week, finish the top for my plaid shirts quilt. (It's almost there - just outer borders need tweaking b/c I've changed my mind.)

Load something, any thing, on my longarm frame. That probably means piecing a back which is always a bigger mental hurdle than it should be.

I forgot my goals for last week and am too lazy to go looking for them!
Anyway... I got the Feb. HGTV BOM done, I sorted through more fabric and will be sharing a bunch with a quilting friend (box is all packed) and I continued adding strips to the charm pack pieces. Felt good to get done what I did.
This week... continue with the charms and I just found out I need two journal covers so maybe will get those started/done.

I find that writing down goals on her makes me feel accountable for getting some sewing done! Thank you for this thread!

I did not get the applique work done on the Sandy Hook Commemorative Quilt, so I will continue. I've decided how to make the center medallion, so that is the hard part. I've also made some design decisions on the rest of it, so it is coming together.

No other goals. Well, maybe.........

I had hoped this past week to further reduce through use my stash in the 2-1/2" shoeboxes and while I didn't quite finish Frown , here's how far I did go (just so you don't think I'm too much of a slacker!) In my defense, my oldest son just got back from his one year deployment to the Middle East, I took dinner to another son & family who had a baby a couple weeks ago, babysat all day for 3 preschoolers so their mom could have some alone time and made 48 breakfast burritos for our freezer. Actually, looking back on it, this week really isn't measureably different than most of mine- just the individuals and situations change from time to time. Wink

So here are my Sunny Lanes quilt blocks- just 4 more to finish sewing, then I'll iron them and sew and quilt and bind. Easy-peasy! So- this week? I guess I'll try to get this finished (again!) lol!!

Edited to add: No yardage was hurt in this quilt block making! Just leftover strips from my shoeboxes!!! Wink

Also- btw- this is not the final arrangement of the blocks, I'll mix it up a little more as far as color placements!

Warm Buns, I love your quilt top.
My DH and I made the drive to take the quilt I made for my friend. She loves it I used the blues and greens that she likes. While we were their my DH helped her and her DH to set up a new laptop. Now she can keep in touch with her children. We have been telling them that they need to get a computer for years.
My goals for this comming week:
To finily get the backing done for my DSIL's quilt and get it on the quilter. I had to get some more fabric for the back. I didn't have enough green for the back. To work on the blocks for the redwork with a twist. and to finish the binding on my DDIL's quilt. That should keep me busy.

My goal is preparing some tops, quilt kits for Project Linus Make a Blanket day Saturday 2/26. Got 6 tops layered yesterday and they will be tied. Have 8 row quilts kits to pull out & get ready

I did make two baby receiving blankets. Laid out quilt blocks Saturday to sew together but car accident last Saturday interrupted that plan. But I do know how I want to sew together but it is on point and color placement makes the design so that stack will sit on the sewing table until time permits.

Good job for everyone working on their goals!

I finished my February mini, picture posted on the sew and tell thread. Yesterday I received March in the mail so I have started on that one.
Frogs are all loaded, just waiting for me to get downstairs to do the quilting.

It's snowing like crazy here, maybe I'll get a snow day tomorrow!!!

warm buns,

Someone stole the original quilt at the ceremony? What a bummer. This is really a labor of love and hard to believe someone would do such a terrible thing. A really great looking quilt.

Malou- I saw this quilt on Elaine Adair's blog- she used a block called Sunny Lanes that is on the Quilter's Cache web site. She adapted it to 16" blocks so that the squares were 2-1/2". I liked it and love that it was only 16 blocks to make a nice size lap quilt!

I actually wrote down my list from last week on a white board, and guess what!! Smile It kept me on track and things got done!
-Strip Twist is bound
-Jelly roll race (but I just did a walk!) done!
- Bounce blks are all cut to size and some border is cut to, so I am making progress - but it is still on the list.
- Binding for my one quilt I want done on the bias is still on the list to.

But I did bind a quilt that I did not have listed so.... I think I like this idea of keeping myself on track!!

This week: *Bind Christmas throw.
*Bounce project: put blks together into top, work on border pieces.*Do 1 bk from last years BOM (at least... Roll Eyes )*make the bias binding for blue quilt,

There. If I end up getting all this done - good for me. If I get this done + more... yeah!!!!
But this is a good start for now.... considering it is Tuesday and Friday is almost here!!! Wink

Wave

And Gardenpat - Love your top!!!!! That is just fun!!!!

Thank you for answering my question about your quilt Pat!
Funny thing... after I wrote that post I was looking at some Missouri Star Quilt Co. videos and she has one showing a quilt called Sunny Skies... it looks similar to yours.
I really do like that pattern!

So many are doing good on their goals! I'm moving along with mine... slow but sure!
