Wondering if any of you have seen anything from The Dutch Quilter. Her applique technique using hot ribbon is amazing. Add shading with copic markers and you have a beautiful result. Many of her patterns are large, Georgia O' Keefe-like flowers. I love her stuff. check her out at www.Thedutchquilter.com.
Welcome! Someone posted a link to The Dutch Quilter and i think they talking about taking a class with her i think! (a few months ago)
she does beautiful work...Amazing to look at!
Where are you from? I am Kim, and am in Michigan.
Glad to have you on board!
Never heard of hot ribbon so I looked for a tutorial.
Thank you for the link but it doesn't work. This one does: http://www.dutchquilter.com/
I am from Pennsylvania and have had the opportunity to take a class with the Dutch Quilter. She comes to the Quilt Show in Chautaqua, NY in Sept and then teaches at the Millcreek Quilt shop in Erie afterwards. She is a delightful teacher and her husband is a doll. I love her techniques and was glad to see the post of the tutorial from Evelyn B and the correct website from Anael7621. Thanks ladies!!
She was someone I considered as a speaker for our retreat...
“May God give you...For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share, for every sigh a sweet song and an answer for each prayer.”
The Dutch Quilter would make a great speaker. She has relatives that lives in the DC area. I took the class with Hot Potter Mama and she is a really good teacher.
I agree, if you can ever get her do it!
