I guess not doing my July block until the last day has it's advantages. I still had the fabrics out so decided to do the August and be done with it. Four more to go!

Got the pattern printed out, but have another project on the cutting table right now...so no room to pull out any other fabrics. Maybe in a week or so!

Hugs to all!

Cute chickens ladies.

I at least printed off the pattern so I've got it when I'm ready to sew them again. I'm getting mighty tired of the garden chores.

It looks as tho, as a group, we're slipping behind this summer with our Funky Chickens. I'm on that list of no-shows this season.
Today, I plan to get back to my Chickens. I love this BOM and hate being so far behind.
I'm off to pick out fabrics now.

I wanted to get caught up on my chickens. I added sashing to all 8 chics. I am using up my stash and trying to not buy more fabrics. So here is my picture of the 8 blocks. I got some kona black cotton to put next to my sashings.

I have mine sewn, fused but still have to embroider-- won't happen until at least Saturday. Working 11 hour days with 6 year olds then 9 year olds (doing 2 teaching jobs right now), so come home exhausted. Had a 6 day work week last week with Saturday School and out of town for a birthday yesterday, so I have had no time to finish.

Mary, I really like the looks of yours all laid out.
I got mine put together the other evening. I keep them all hung on this hanger and sorry about the one behind this one showing through a little. Will kind of hate to see these end. Just 4 more to go, then will need to think about quilting and I hate that part!!!

Although I'm not doing this BOM, I love looking at your blocks. You are all doing such cute work. I get a chuckle when I notice that some of the chicks for a month are facing one way and some the other - I often get my applique "backwards" too. For this pattern is makes absolutely no difference.

It seems like I am always making blocks. Have many collections that I need to put together to make quilts, so I should not join anymore BOM's. Will try and get the chics together as my guild having a quilt show next spring and I want to enter it.

Fishingwidow, what is the background fabric that you are using? I really like that. It would fit with so many fabrics.

FlFarmGirl,

It is a fabric that I got at my LQS. I liked it because there are tiny specs in it (don't know if you can tell from the pix) that reminded me of dirt.

I just checked and it is evidentally a holiday fabric (not that you can tell by looking) called Noel by Susan Winget for Benartex.

They are all looking great! I am behind this month - finally got the chicken cut out and stitched. I'm not happy with the yellow I chose either, but for now it's going to have to work!
