Feel kinda dumb asking this but it concerns those cute burp cloths for babies. I know they are very handy & much appreciated by the moms for newborn babies, but how old would baby have to be before these would no longer be necessary? Thinking of making some but did not want to bother if the cloths would no longer be practical. Thinking maybe use the fabric to make something else instead????

Thought some of the moms or grandmoms with little ones might know. Please advise?

Gosh, after the burping is done, they are fantastic to have around for feeding times and I even have used one for an emergency diaper!

I was going to say the same thing that KC did...seems like mom's always need an extra cloth around to wipe something! It never hurts if the cloth is cute!

I think they would be great to put down on their high chair (sort of like a place mat) to catch spills. So a burp cloth in my opinion can go beyound the burping stage. Nicki We live in the home of the free...because of the brave.

I remember using them as change pads, shopping cart lines for where the child sits.....although there are better things. Just to keep in the diaper bag for whatever emegency might pop up. If life hands you scraps make quilts

They are nice to have to cover shoulders when the baby is sick or has an upset tummy. Eruptions happen.

Look at it this way--you could buy the baby an outfit that will fit perhaps a month or two or make the burp cloths, matching blankets, washcloths, bibs and if for boys, wee-wee teepees which will be used at least 12-18 months or longer! Trust me when I say the mothers always thank for for a practical gift that they use day in and day out. Just use high-quality flannel for the best results. This message has been edited.
