I went to a Summer Quilt retreat this past weekend, Thur-Sun. It was held at www.quiltagiousquarters.com in Celeste, TX.
We had so much fun, there were 9 of us.
I had never made a Twister quilt before, I used the large twister template and discovered it was so easy if one takes the time to cut, piece and press correctly.
I used Texas themed fabric from the Quilt Across Texas fabrics from 2011.
I am ready to make another one and also make one with the small Twister ruler.

That's a beautiful quilt. I love the fabrics you used. I've only made a small twister piece & it was fun to do. It sounds like you had a blast at the retreat. Thanks for sharing the picture with us.

lovethosequilts. . .it measures out to 66 x 66. I used a 6 1/2 on first border and a 6 1/2 inch border on the second border.

I had a Kate Spain Fresh Flowers layer cake and I sewed those blocks together to make another Twister top, just need to find the borders.

I would love to make one using baby themed fabric for a quick baby quilt gift.

I really like making twister quilts. I have a top ready for quilting - baby quilt size. And Halloween fabrics in the larger size for a throw. Glad you're hooked! Sounds like your retreat was fun too.
The retreat center seems like a nice place. Did y'all cook or have your meals catered?

Nice quilt. I've been hearing a lot about these twister quilts lately. Makes me want to try one. Can you get the twister ruler at Joanns?

Twister quilts are so fun to make and so fun to watch come together! Yours is beautiful - great job! Owie, I haven't seen the ruler in any store other than quilt shops.

Texana I used that Fresh Flowers 5" charms in a bed runner made with 10 minute bloxks and bordered with the jelly roll strips - I am looking forward to seeing your twister made with that fabric - it's just plain BRIGHT and CHEERY.
Love the twister you are showing here, well done.

Great job. I love how different each Twister quilt can be when you play around with the block layouts. Yours is very pleasing to the eye.
