Has anyone bought this? Is it a good buy? I need a new machine and I LOVE the look of this (how can you not?). I have read the customer reviews and the only negatives are that it needs an additional feature--can't remember what it's called-- where you can have it stop in the needle up or the needle down position. Also, the dust cover is cheap. Other than that, everyone writing a review seems to like it. Has anyone on this board tried it? I'm thinking it would make a great birthday present since I need a new machine anyway!

i have it. i am a little disappointed in it. it is big, it is loud and it is heavy. it is pretty. if u lived closer, i would sell it to you, but would cost a ton to ship.

Since it's made in Vietn@m I'm not interested in it. Sad! It is pretty.

I have it - several of us bought it on a special at HSN. I love it - okay, it is just beautiful. It is big and fairly heavy but these are not bad things for me. It's not my portable. The dust cover stinks, but I've been fiddling around making one myself. I really like the way the bed slopes - it makes the fabric easy to manipulate and it seems to go easily under the needle. The feet attach easily and the storage is very handy. I would suggest going to Joann's if there's one near you. They carry it now and you can test drive it and see if it suits you. It sure is pretty, tho, isn't it?

I have one and I love it. As far as I can tell, all machines are made outside the USA. I could be wrong. It is pretty, has cool stitches, nice sloped bed for the fabric, and runs smoothly. I don't travel to classes, so mine sits right here and I enjoy it. Just guessing but I'm betting it was the machine being made in Viet N*am that Evelyn did not like, not that it was not built in the USA,since I know she has Janome's which are made in Japan. May "In Michigan"

Oh thanks for the clarification. I did not know it was specific to that country and not the other countries. Anyway, I love the machine! Please leave a comment on one of my blogs....go to http://shogunsworld.blogspot.com/ or http://rememberingmadison.blogspot.com/
