Pumpkin, you might want to edit your profile to change your location. Congrats on the new location and hope you find lots of quilting buddies nearby. www.floridafarmgirlsworld.blogspot.com Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.

Check out www.tourdequilt.com to see if any of those shops are near you. Guess I should get out a map. Welcome to the Old Dominion. The shop hop for shops in Wytheville, Radford, Lynchburg, Martinsville, Boones Mill and Roanoke starts today. Pick up a copy of the Country Register. It is a publication that has ads for all kinds of quiltshops, needlecraft shops. It is free and it is by area of the state. Lots to see and do in VA! You are 3 hours from me straight down 95 and exit on to I85. You live very close to Daisythechocolatemouse... You might pm her and ask her about her quilt guild. www.pigtalesandquilts.com www.crazyquiltingsupplies.com Crazy Quilting is addictive so we just have to STITCH IT OUT LOUD!

Oh, and if you go to Wytheville, go check out the Log House Restaurant. They have this log cabin quilt that must be a hundred years old hanging on the wall. www.floridafarmgirlsworld.blogspot.com Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.

Congrats on the move! Virginia is a beautiful state and there are lots of quiltshops in the DC outskirts. I moved back home 2.5 years ago but there are places I really miss. Here is a link to some: http://www.generations-quilt-p...nia-quilt-shops.html Jinny Beyer has her place NE of DC. The Artful Quilter in Burke is good, plus Webfabrics in Purcellville. I also like That Little Quilt Shop in Madison and The Quilt Patch in Fairfax. I am not sure the Old Towne Needlecrafts is still in Manassas (loved the fabric but the shop was too cluttered for me to concentrate). I think they opened up Aurora Quilts in downtown Manassas but I've never been there. Traffic is a bear to get around, unfortunately, but there are definitely places around. If it were me, I'd head west or south to try to avoid the congestion. Material Girls, in Maryland, is quite a stretch for you but I like the shop. Be sure to go down to the big quilt expo in Hampton. February or March, I think. Incredible how much I've already forgotten! This message has been edited. Last edited by: Penny Quilts,

Oh! And I forgot Kelly Ann's Quilting in Warrenton!

Thanks to all for the info, I saved a lot of the pages to look at later when I finally get settled in. No, I will still be ( georgia) for a while. Had that since we got our first comp. 13 years ago. LOL.. Anyway, looking forward to school starting and me crafting..
