Has anyone here made a quilt by doing Bonnie's Leaders and Enders?

If yes, could you show a photo.

I'm working on one also. You will probably find many of us have WIP's!

Me too! (Working on one, that is.) If I ever do this again, I'm going to cut the pieces a little bigger than 2" - that size takes too many for a quilt.

She has 2 great mysteries recently completed that have beautiful tutorials for each step. Orange Crush and Carolina Crossroads. You can get to them on the right side of her blog down a ways:

I, personally, never do mysteries ... been burned too many times. I wait until it's done and I see the end before I give it a go. Guess I'm not much for surprises.

OK those of you who have leaders & enders started would you go ahead and post a photo.... we wanna see.

Yep 2" is pretty small but I probably have a ton in that size. Maybe I'll just sew them all together like crumbs.

WIP yep that's for sure. I probably have at least 100 UFO's and bags and more bags of scraps. I just can't bring myself to pitch them ... I'm a hoarder. LOL

Thanks everyone.

I have a whole box full of them but haven't started a quilt with them yet. Too many other irons in the fire right now including the need to put the border on my Orange Crush quilt.

Here's a picture of what I have so far. I'm not sure how I will arrange the blocks but this is definitely a possibility.

Both of Bonnie's mysteries are done so you can see the end product before trying. These are very nice.

Me!! I love leaders/enders! (Thanks for the compliment, Paus!) I just finished piecing two different ones, although I want to add another row on one of them as soon as enough 2" scraps "happen" from other projects, which should be pretty soon. My current leaders/enders are HSTs for another half baked idea I've been thinking about.

Because I really do try to keep my scraps organized by size, it's easy to grab a container of squares and use them for leaders/enders. You'd think it would really make a dent in the scraps, but we all know that scraps "happen" .... Roll Eyes

Here's the one that needs another few rows. It started with 4-patches made from 2" squares.

And here's the one made with 4-patches from 2-1/2" squares. These 4-patches were deliberately made with either white or cream 'cause I actually had a plan for what I wanted to do! (And the white and cream squares were overflowing their containers, lol!)

WOW now that's what I'm talking about ... Dyed they are wonderful. THANKS so much for sharing.

I guess I'll have to get more organized with my scraps. All this time I've been using tiny pieces for my "bunny ears". Thanks again.

Love all of them! I got a box each of 2 1/2" squares in both 30's and regular scrap fabrics, so I keep them next to my sewing machine and grab a handful and use these when I need the L & E's. When I have time, a quick iron and back into the boxes they go until I sew again.

I'm a big fan of Bonnies, but if you see something you want for patterns, better save them. If you notice, Bonnie makes the comment on her main screen to copy them as they might not be there forever. I copies just about every pattern and her suggestions so I wouldn't be left in the dark. Personally, I can't believe she does all that work and doesn't sell her patterns. That could be what she plans to do, so head's up to those Quiltville lovers to copy the patterns so YOU won't be left in the lurch!

I've always thought Bonnie's idea of using scraps cut to a specific size as leaders and enders was a good idea but never have a specific plan for the next quilt I'm going to make until after I finish the one in progress. In fact I usually don't have the one in progress all figured out until I get it finished. Roll Eyes

Dyed Grey, that first one you showed is enough to make me start cutting up some of my scraps into squares to make four-patches to make 16-patches. Big Grin
