This is the baby quilt I've been working on & that I had questions about before starting on it. Thanks to all who gave me suggestions about the batting (fusible vs. spray basting). I used spray basting & a few pins. I think it turned out really pretty. I could not find a print backing that matched so I used a solid fabric. Lessons learned.....solid fabric shows up every mistake. Wink I used a blended batting made of 50% Rayon from bamboo & 50% certified organic cotton. It turned out really, really nice. I didn't want anything too heavy because of our hot Texas weather (year round). It's soft & light weight. I did some free motion hearts around the outer, pink border (I drew them on first with a washable marking pen & then followed the lines.) The shower is next Saturday so it's finished just in the nick of time. This was a kit I bought from the Fat Quarter Shop.

Thanks for all the complements. Downsuth, I like for baby quilts to "go beyond" baby times so I try to make them so that they can use them for a long time.

Ditto as to what DownSouth stated!

Nice pattern layout as well. Not too busy, just enough to help babys eyes focus.

makes me want... to snuggle and hit the hay.
