Haven't had all that much time for sewing but I did finish the little quilt I was complaining about last week. It sure is a bright one!

My gd decided her sock monkey looked mad with his arched eyebrows and nose, so she turned to me to fix him. She helped with the design, and now she says "I lub him so much".This message has been edited. Last edited by: elsie123,
Martha I love your mini! I sure would hate to have to pick a favorite from all that you've made - just couldn't do it. Elsie, I need to make one of these little ironing boards, just need to find a TV tray. SeeingStars, love your twister.

I think I need to start collecting Halloween prints after seeing your Twister SeeingStars. It's good to see your quilt finished Bozie - I really like that block layout.
And, elsie123 I love that idea of an ironing tray. I've brought my iron board upstairs to the quilt room for now but would like something else to use.
I finished piecing my batik table topper. And, I'm excited to start the 1st of 2 online Craftsy machine quilting classes I signed up for this weekend. Maybe next Friday I'll have a FINISH!
I made a tv tray ironing board a couple of years ago and it is very easy to take to sewing or to retreats with me. It doesn't take up that much room and you don't have to get up to go iron your project. When you are doing something that needs continually pressing, it sure comes in handy.
I am putting on the binding on my Day & Night and then I will have a pic to show. Caution, it is very bright!
Also, I have received not only my row by row from the COF retreat, but also one from one of the guilds that also did it. I am putting the borders on them too. Pics to follow soon.
Our lives are like quilts - bits and pieces, joy and sorrow, stitched with love.

I really look forward to this topic each week. I enjoy seeing everyone's beautiful work. I admire Bozie's miniatures each week. This one is beautiful as always. Elsie 123 your sock monkey is adorable and so is your granddaughter. Seeing Stars your twister looks bright and fun. I love making twisters. Asimplelife your table topper is charming. Good luck with your Craftsy class. You'll have to let us know how you like it. This is a fractured landscape that I made from a design by Jane Kennedy. She had one similar to this that was a finalist in the $100,000 Quilt Challenge a few years ago. I just entered it in a local quilt show and it won a blue ribbon, so I'm thrilled!

Congrats on your blue ribbon, aka Teddylady. It's a pretty landscape. Bozie, I'm glad you finished this mini. Sometimes we learn more from the ones that give us the most trouble. asimplelife, very nice table topper. Batiks are my fave. Elsie, what a clever idea for your pressing station.
Just finished the applique on this quilt top today. It is a sample for the store I work at. I really love the way it turned out! The name of the pattern is Jewel Patch

Everyone did a great job with their Sew & Tell projects for the week.
Bozie: Bring on the brights because I love them & love your latest little mini. Elsie: The sock monkey sure looks different with just a little face lift on those brows. Your DGD sure looks pleased with her new friend. Great job on the ironing board cover. I need a new one for my big ironing board. SeeingStars: Your Halloween twister turned out really cute. asimplelife: I like your batik table topper. All those rich, warm colors sure look good together. Teddlady: That landscape scene is beautiful. Congratulations on your blue ribbon win. KSKaren: All I can say is...WOW...I love that quilt. Like I told Bozie, I love the brights & then any quilt with black in it is beautiful in my eyes. It just makes those colors pop like crazy!
Thanks to all for the beautiful eye candy!

Your projects all blow my mind!! Can't think of one I don't like - I'd like to try turning a tv table into one of those ironing stations for right next to my sewing machine...just not sure I have room for one there. Sure would be nice though, getting up and down may be good exercise but it is a pain in the you know what....

ALWAYS love all of the projects. Bozie - your mini turned out great. akateddylady - I tried to do a landscape one time - it was thrown away quickly!!!! asimplelife - your table runner is lovely. SeeingStars and KSKaren - your quilts are so bright and happy! elsie123, love the change on the sock monkey and your ironing cover is a great idea! Here's what I have been working on. We do a lot of work with the Circleville (Ohio) Pumpkin Show. The man in charge is wonderful to us and I wanted to do something to thank him. I did fusible applique to put the Pumpkin Show logo on, then used paper piecing to do his last name. I am very pleased with the applique (see my post "Comment on Machine Applique") The hanger may look unusual, but it is appropriate! The Dearwester Cane game (you throw rings to win a cane)is a staple at many events including our local fair and the Pumpkin Show. I used one of the canes instead of a dowel! I always look forward to this thread each week. For the first time, I actually finished something! I made a Sew Easy Strata Star. I saw a video of it on Youtube & fell in love with it. I ordered the pattern & got started on it this past Wednesday. It went together very easily & quickly- I had the entire thing finished & quilted (stitch in the ditch) in 2 days. I had planned on using this piece in an exchange at a cross-stiching retreat I'll be attending soon, but I love it so much I've got a feeling that I'm going to keep this one for me!
I also finally got my Janome 3160QDC out of the box & put it to use on the strata star. I could kick myself for waiting so long to use it!
Happy Stitching All! Susan

Susan, no picture??? All the projects are very pretty, even Bozie's "ugly" mini Now you know none of us thought it was ugly to start with right Bozie?
KSKaren .... WOW! You combined a gorgeous choice of colors and such a stunning pattern. That one will bless the quilt shop with lots of interested customers eager to make their own.
Here are somethings I have been working on. A rwb for DH

Finally I have both baby quilts done. Not due until the end of November and December, but I wanted them out of the way.. Not being in the mood they were both a struggle and I'm glad they're done. Hope the bug bites soon.

First one was for the baby boy..this is the girls.. I used scraps for the center from a quilt I made 3 years ago.
Ladies- I would love to post a picture of my Strata Star, but I honestly don't know how to post pictures online. *bows her head in shame* Can anyone share some hints on how to do that?

Susan...We've all been there. SO RAISE THAT HEAD AND BE SHAMED NO MORE!
We'll snicker about you behind your back. Just joking.
In the meantime, look below the last post here. See the two "Arrow" buttons below that post on the bottom right? Click the "Reply" button with the blue arrow.
In the pop-up, immediately below the text box, click the blue "Add Attachment?" Below it will pop open File Source...Click "Browse" and look in your pictures folder on your computer.
Now your picture cannot be over 150kb (if I remember) in size, so if yours are large you will need to resize. (If you don't know how...do NOT hang thy head in shame again!)
I love this post. All the projects are great. I have been doing multi tasking LOL. I started a quilt for DH. It is in rows that have to be sewn togehter. The baby quilt has to wait a bit longer till my hip heals enough to crawl around the floor. I have some scrap blocks going for QWL 2 to be exact unless I have more blocks than I need and I have made the next 2 Sept blocks for my BOM. I will post the pics of the 2 blocks. Tomorrow I have PT so depending on how I feel i hope to get some more sewing in.
• • • I'm late this weekend because I was visiting Iowalisa and EJ180 in Des Moines. We went to the AQS Quilt Show. I got to play with George and a few other of his competitors. Can't wait until I can own one.

I've missed this thread. There are always so many neat things shown and shared.
I have ventured back into some sewing and here is one of the things I've done. And it's all Starrysky's fault.
It's a nail file holder. I posted a link on another thread for making an emery file holder and Starry shared her pattern. (I think we need to convince her to have a PJ Party on it.) So I gave it a try and I like it.
Think Xmas and stocking stuffer!!!
OOps, forgot to say, both my glass and crystal files fit the holder. This message has been edited. Last edited by: paus4quilts,
