I have fiskars snip it scissors (my name for them). They are the small ones and the nose are very sharp. Because my college-age children helped to clean up and have put away my travel sewing kit, I gather supplies and put them in a zip lock baggie. As you have figured, my zip lock is riddled with holes. Who knows if the scissors had a protective plastic, but it's also disappeared. So, being the not so crafty type, I thought someone might have an idea. I don't know if I could use the heavier plastic or oil cloth to make a case. Any ideas? Thanks, everyone http://flickr.com/photos/motqltr ~Don't assume people have a plan; they might be waiting for you to tell them the plan!~

A cork from a wine bottle, or a craft store. Dig a small hole in the wide end of it large enough for the tips. Insert tips into cork when finished at the end of the day. A large eraser would probably work also. IF need be, glue and insert a ribbon into the other end of the cork and attach the ribbon to the snips.

I cut a piece of cardboard to size needed, folded it in half and taped it, for my scissors in my makeup case. They slide in and out and I no longer get poked reaching in the bag. I've done the same thing with knives I transport for luncheons.

You can also use the rubber tips that go on knitting needles to protect the tips of very sharp scissors. Keep calm and carry on Life is good!!! Patty (KD0ICU) In God We Trust http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j66/PattyannC/

Sew Happy - that's exactly what I was going to say. Those tips for the needles work very well protecting the scissor tips. I use them all the time when traveling, going to class, anywhere that I have to take scissors with me.

Take a pot holder fold in 3rds like you were making a funnel glue or sew and you have a holder

Two types I have: Plastic canvas (front and back) cut just larger than the scissors. Stitch across the top of both and then stitch front to back using yarn of floss. The small sleeves for my snippets fit well into my travel sewing kit. Similar to the folded potholder already mentioned I have several different sized folded quilted squares. After sewing the squares into a pocket, I add a small loop to the back.

I usually make mine to fit the exact shape of the clippers or scissors out of felt that I decorate but found that sometimes the points still come through so I started coating the inside with either white glue or modpodge after each side has been stitched but prior to joining the 2 sides. I leave just enough edge uncoated to blanket stitch the sides together.

Here's one I made for a small scissor with a matching needle case. ![]()

How cute, Kayla! Love hearing all of these ideas I was going to recommend one of the inexpensive cases for glasses or sunglasses. Hobby Lobby sells some fabric cases on the aisle with tote bags and I think they are $1.99. DD#1 has a fancier hard case for glasses that she uses to store her thread snips.

I have the same scissors (my Favorite go to's) and also keep them on a eyeglass case. That little plastic cover they come with seems to blend in with every thing and is hard to keep up with it. Erma

Plastic pencil cases that snap or slide closed work for scissors and rotary cutters, too. I usually look for those during back-to-school sales, but any office supply place should have them.

Sue and I use a "Pop Top" plastic carrier from CT. It works really good. I have also seen them at Hobby Lobby. They cost about 2 dollars or so.

The pretty little felt case is similar to the leather case that came with my cute little scissors. Sherry Does this hat make my butt look big? www.keepyouinstitches.blogspot.com http://s193.photobucket.com/al...9/keepyouinstitches/ www.friendsofthedaingerfieldpu...library.blogspot.com

Thank you everyone! This is exactly the info I needed. http://flickr.com/photos/motqltr ~Don't assume people have a plan; they might be waiting for you to tell them the plan!~
