I've been in my sewing room all day cutting fabrics for hexies and the next combo swap. I put on the TV to watch while I am working on my project and "Horders" came on. While I certainly have a LONG way to go to reach that state, my sewing room depresses me with all the clutter.
So, what's a fabric horder to do? Give it away! Oh yes, I could sell it on ebay or Craig's list, but why not pass it along? It's FREE! All you pay for is USPS Priority postage for a medium box of $12.35 or large box of $16.85.
What I have is lots of fat quarters and larger pieces, including kids novelties. I also have some scraps available if you rather have those. Just let me know what you would like best!
I will be working on pulling the fabrics the next few weeks, so if you are interested, you can email me at email@example.com and I will put you on the list and send you my mailing address. **PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME A PM OR POST YOU WANT A BOX HERE ON THE BOARDS**
First come, first served. Once I am getting to the end (LOL! ), I will post this event is closed! This message has been edited. Last edited by: KC1930,
You could also send some to Quilts For Kids, especially anything kid or teenish. I believe they even send you a form for writting it off on your taxes.
Have fun - it feels so much better when you can actually figure out what you have and find it when you need it.
I'll put my name in for a large box.
I can send you a check tomorrow in snail mail or include the check in my hexies package (probably mailed by the 20th); or do paypal. Whatever you prefer is okay by me.
I love exchanging fabrics at retreats but don't go to retreats where I live now.
Just let me know
● ● ● You know if it is Black & White or red or dots, you don't have to ask, just send it.
E-mail on the way.
Pat, please send me an email to the address in the post. Thanks!
I already have a very large box for Project Linus ready to go!
Believe it or not, I am too!
I would love a box of fabrics! Can I choose a large one please? I am most interested in the fat quarters and smaller cuts, unless you have white on white or cream prints in yardage, I could use them for sure! No need for kiddie prints right now, but I am sure someone on the boards here needs them!
PM me your address and I will send you a check ASAP! I also have paypal if you want to do it that way? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Quilter, crafter, animal and plant lover. Friend to all
Jean, I didn't get your email, so please send it again to firstname.lastname@example.org. I know I have reds and dots, and probably some B & W to weed out. Don't forget to let me know what size box.
Got your email, Tina.
I e-mailed you- let me know if you have enough boxes and I can paypal you.
Thanks so much for your generous offer! The low income/special needs students I work with would love some new fabrics to play with!
OMG! I can't believe I am writing this but for the first time in my life I am turning down a wonderful offer for fabric! What a delightful thing you are doing to share with other quilters! I usually ALWAYS take free stuff but I am actually to the point in life where I am trying to use what I have (for the most part!) and starting to worry what will become of all of my own stash that is left undone when my time is up. Having said that, thank you again for a lovely and generous offer and I will let others with greater need than I enjoy it!
My heart is pounding at the thought of not taking advantage of this! Hoarder you say...I think I just want more because I like more!
Anyway, do enjoy...
Trust me, you are better off not adding to your collection when you know you are "full up" in your sewing room! I've passed up lots of quilters downsizing sales and my friends are amazed with my self-control! It will be SO nice to get all those extra boxes of fabric there is no place in my cabinets out and sorted. While it might look like I have lost my mind, I feel great! My loss is YOUR gain!
I just found a nice pile of CW period fabrics to the first one who claims them! Just email me at the address above.
I sent you an email!!
The CW fabrics are gone! Anyone for Pokemon?
Will drop check in the mail KC. Tried to send a reply but it said server would'nt accept-whatever the heck that means!
How kind you are to do this. I am passing on the offer, I will never use all I have.
Let me know if you had a box for me, and e-mail me your paypal address (I sent you an e-mail) if so
Already sent you a reply, Jen.
I also have Halloween and Christmas fabric if anyone is interested. Just email me!
I just sent an e-mail. I'm interested in 30's prints if you're getting rid of any of those. Let me know the cost...doesn't matter what size the box has to be.
My quilt photos...
Could you resend the e-mail? I don't see it. I don't know if my work e-mail is not allowing it through. Can you please try sending it to email@example.com?
Good for you KC...I need to get mine under control too .. instead of buying more bins.
That's SOOOOO funny! I did the same thing yesterday... started an email... "of course! I want new fabric!" ... then I had to think of all that I have in my organization of what I have and how I've been getting the seasonal stuff downstairs ... so I too had to pass.
What a way to get us excited! Hope y'all enjoy all the freebies ... and KC, what a great thing to share
2013 ... it's MY YEAR for sewing!
sent you an e-mail
Thanks so much. The check is going in the mail today. You are very generous.
Just saw this today but have sent an email in case you still have anything left!
I have so many of you who have replied to my request that I have to stop taking names until I am sure I have them taken care of first!
I'm off for a dr. appt. and a trip to the PO in two towns for enough boxes! If you are still interested, please stay tuned!
I will honor those who already emailed me and if you haven't heard back from me yet, you will today!
WHEW ! Made it thru round 1
2013 ... it's MY YEAR for sewing!
I think someone is tempted...and I have all that ORANGE fabric and no place to go.... :
Stop that KC!!!... but but I'm outta' of orange..ooohhhh
Having problems with my email- I think my reply went through twice. I'm withdrawing my request- I really need to use more of my stash before adding more, though I love scraps! Somehow it's more fun playing with someone else's scraps. I need to go through my books. It's easier for me to thin them out than the fabric.
Okay, I packaged up 25 boxes tonight! I do have mostly novelty and kids fabrics left with some florals and larger pieces (1 1/2-2 yds).
If you are interested, email me with your choices to firstname.lastname@example.org
Going once, going twice....
For donated quilts for the kids, check out the photos at
WOW. look at those boxes... you really did have a huge stash!
Just sent an email to you on the novelties and kids fabric.
I just sent you an email for kids and a couple bigger pieces anything. I need to replenish my stash. Thank you.
Sew, sew, and sew some more that's my motto!
Most of the kids is gone, but I still have plenty of misc. left. I can make about five medium boxes yet. Any takers?
sent you another e-mail, hope it went thru this time
Debbie, pm me you email address as I still am not getting your emails.
Well, I DID keep some of it, lol!
I still didn't get an e-mail. I have been working 12 hour days and had my formal teaching observation yesterday so I didn't get online.
Can you try one more time please? Jennifer.email@example.com OR firstname.lastname@example.org so I can pay you back?
The kids at work next year are going to be SO excited with their sewing projects!
Jen, your box is already packed and ready to go and send you another email. Let me know if you don't get it.
DebbieWI, I just got your SECOND email! For some reason, gmail considered it at risk and labeled it as such. I think for some reason the "rr" in the email address does it. Whatever, I will send you a reply!
" My bucket list bucket has a hole and it's leaking time"
Are you interested?
I'm off to work, so just send me an email to the address in the post and I will get back to you. Remember ladies, you aren't only helping me clean out the excess, but supporting the USPS! This message has been edited. Last edited by: KC1930,
KC am sending an email but I realize I am probably a bit late. Was gone all weekend until yesterday afternoon but I love scraps or anything so if there is any left I would love to have it. Thanks for being so generous. size of box doesn't matter or size of scraps.
A true intellectual is someone who can listen to the entire "William Tell Overture" without once thinking of the Lone Ranger.
What a great idea!!! None for me thank you but it is certainly an option to consider at some point. I haven't been buying much but still it grows.....I always swore I'd stop when the wardrobes were full.......they really are full, plus several bins and piles that haven't made it in there yet.
I had six floor to ceiling white cabinets chocked full of fabrics and now it is down to 3 1/2! Now, I have some bins in the storage area I need to open, but at least it's a good start! Of course, I bought two rolls of cotton batting and those babies take up a ton of room.
This year, it's all about using those pre-cut pieces and scraps to make quilts. Mindless sewing at it's best!
Anybody up for a box of just Christmas fabrics?
I would love them. Email on the way. Thanks
Our lives are like quilts - bits and pieces, joy and sorrow, stitched with love.
For those of you who haven't already send me your mailing address, please do to email@example.com
