I've been in my sewing room all day cutting fabrics for hexies and the next combo swap. I put on the TV to watch while I am working on my project and "Horders" came on. While I certainly have a LONG way to go to reach that state, my sewing room depresses me with all the clutter.

So, what's a fabric horder to do? Give it away! Oh yes, I could sell it on ebay or Craig's list, but why not pass it along? It's FREE! All you pay for is USPS Priority postage for a medium box of $12.35 or large box of $16.85.

What I have is lots of fat quarters and larger pieces, including kids novelties. I also have some scraps available if you rather have those. Just let me know what you would like best!

I will be working on pulling the fabrics the next few weeks, so if you are interested, you can email me at 2013hexagonswap@gmail.com and I will put you on the list and send you my mailing address. **PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME A PM OR POST YOU WANT A BOX HERE ON THE BOARDS**

First come, first served. Once I am getting to the end (LOL! Big Grin), I will post this event is closed!

You could also send some to Quilts For Kids, especially anything kid or teenish. I believe they even send you a form for writting it off on your taxes.

Have fun - it feels so much better when you can actually figure out what you have and find it when you need it.

Kathleen,
I've done this before when my stash was overwhelming, and it was very liberating! I'm sure it will be the same for you.

I'll put my name in for a large box.

I can send you a check tomorrow in snail mail or include the check in my hexies package (probably mailed by the 20th); or do paypal. Whatever you prefer is okay by me.

I love exchanging fabrics at retreats but don't go to retreats where I live now.

Just let me know

I would love a box of fabrics! Can I choose a large one please? I am most interested in the fat quarters and smaller cuts, unless you have white on white or cream prints in yardage, I could use them for sure! No need for kiddie prints right now, but I am sure someone on the boards here needs them!
PM me your address and I will send you a check ASAP! I also have paypal if you want to do it that way? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

OMG! I can't believe I am writing this but for the first time in my life I am turning down a wonderful offer for fabric! What a delightful thing you are doing to share with other quilters! I usually ALWAYS take free stuff but I am actually to the point in life where I am trying to use what I have (for the most part!) and starting to worry what will become of all of my own stash that is left undone when my time is up. Having said that, thank you again for a lovely and generous offer and I will let others with greater need than I enjoy it!

My heart is pounding at the thought of not taking advantage of this! Hoarder you say...I think I just want more because I like more!

Anyway, do enjoy...

Trust me, you are better off not adding to your collection when you know you are "full up" in your sewing room! I've passed up lots of quilters downsizing sales and my friends are amazed with my self-control! It will be SO nice to get all those extra boxes of fabric there is no place in my cabinets out and sorted. While it might look like I have lost my mind, I feel great! My loss is YOUR gain! Smile

That's SOOOOO funny! I did the same thing yesterday... started an email... "of course! I want new fabric!" ... then I had to think of all that I have in my organization of what I have and how I've been getting the seasonal stuff downstairs ... so I too had to pass.

What a way to get us excited! Hope y'all enjoy all the freebies ... and KC, what a great thing to share Smile

2014 ... I wish you good health, love, peace and QUILTING!

Having problems with my email- I think my reply went through twice. I'm withdrawing my request- I really need to use more of my stash before adding more, though I love scraps! Somehow it's more fun playing with someone else's scraps. I need to go through my books. It's easier for me to thin them out than the fabric.

What a great idea!!! None for me thank you but it is certainly an option to consider at some point. I haven't been buying much but still it grows.....I always swore I'd stop when the wardrobes were full.......they really are full, plus several bins and piles that haven't made it in there yet.

I had six floor to ceiling white cabinets chocked full of fabrics and now it is down to 3 1/2! Now, I have some bins in the storage area I need to open, but at least it's a good start! Of course, I bought two rolls of cotton batting and those babies take up a ton of room.

This year, it's all about using those pre-cut pieces and scraps to make quilts. Mindless sewing at it's best! Smile
