Does anyone remember the forum BOM where people signed up to design a quilt block and the theme was the Snowmen??

I found the Strolling The Block BOM, Isabella's Garden BOM, Every Birdies Home Tweet Home BOM but could not find the snowmen.

Can anyone help with the name of the BOM?

I must have forgotten about the Snow Cottages.

The snowmen were designed by various board members... I believe one of the designers went by a nickname of "Calico"

They were all applique... The designer for the month would post her block and then everyone else would make their rendition of the block...

I remember Holee being a member too but I cannot contact her... Can anyone else contact her maybe?

FOUND it!

I looked through Holee's photo albums and found the blocks she made during the BOM... It was in 2007

The link is: http://good-times.webshots.com/album/560628723zCCOdj

The reason I wanted to show you all this is I was wondering if you would be up to a Snowman BOM for 2013? I have a plan in the works right now and will give the info in a week or so...

Wonder where I was back in 2007 - not paying attention here - obviously! Those blocks they did were great.

Um, depending on how it all works out, might like to join.

TcMay, the one from DonnasDayCare was a block swap. I don't know about anyone else, but I sent my blocks in and never received any back.

These snowmen weren't a swap... It was a BOM and everyone kept their own. That will be the way I host the one I am planning too. Smile

The one I hosted was a Christmas Round Robin done in blocks.

Mine was Pigs In Boxers. lol

Your blocks are here in my house waiting for the finishing touches on the quilting! Yours was a Nativity Scene.

Marie did the Western Snowmen theme.

Suzanne did a beautiful floral theme on black background...

I think we had 2 or 3 groups going on that one but these are the ones I clearly remember...

I believe coffee tea or me was in the swap.. and dhmayfield (maybe)... I wish I had kept files and photos on all of the swaps that I have hosted.... Frown

You are correct...it happened to a lot of folks and turned into a huge disappointment for many. She left during or shortly afterward...sorry I brought it up. I just remembered I loved the cottages and the Snow people exchanges.

I made 2 quilts from the blocks in the link. One I gave to Talia for her son and one to Cindy..I don't remember her board name..IthinkIcan..or something like that..she loved snowmen. I also made the January block into totes and walker bags for the Christmas Party at the local nursing home. The blocks were fun to make. Of all the quilts I've made I only kept one for myself and it's not layered yet Frown but I should make another sets of the snowman blocks and keep them this time!

Holee.. The BOM won't be using those blocks again.. I will be hopefully using some by a designer. She is sending me a set of her patterns now for me to look over and then if I decide to use them, she and I will discuss how to go about it for the forum.

If you are interested in doing the BOM with us I would need for you to send me your phone number so I could contact you should you go offline for an extended time period. Then I could get you the patterns easily.
