The current problems with the board haven't been fixed and I'm concerned.

With the largeness of everyone's avatars, I have no idea how the photos will show up. I've tried deleting my avatar but it is still there, and I know it usually takes a bit until a change to the avatar happens.

Many of the posts on the board have photos and everything seems to be allright but I'm a worry wart. Maybe when the photos are added the avatars will be reduced????

Any suggestions, thoughts?

I once told DH to "chill." He looked at me with his teeth gritted and said, "I don't chill very well." THAT was an understatement. LOL

Just give it time. They'll get it worked out - eventually.

In other posts, the photos appear to do nothing to affect the avatar size...

LOL After I left work at noon (dentist appointment this afternoon), I thought that what I said might not translate well in the typed word since you couldn't see the twinkle in my eyes.

SO glad you took it the way I meant it. Wink Whew! I was afraid I'd have to come here and apologize.

Emb.... I noticed that too, most of the board sponsered avatars seem to be ok. But some of the others are simply huge and EvelynB's is the biggest one yet. (I think it was hers) good thing the quilting and sewing were so good, because you sure can see every stitch.

Or if you are using a personal photo for your avatar, you must resize it down to smaller than for regular posting on the message boards. What seems to work, is to make it smaller than 100x100 pixels. Less than 30kb, depending on the resolution.
You know those teeny tiny photos of quilts we've tried to see the detail in? That size. Wink

If you want to use one of your own photos...mine is a 5.6KB 87px x 100px jpeg image of a lap quilt I made years ago. The image is stored on Photobucket and I just linked to it in my profile.

They are still fairly large on my monitor. I had selected not to show avatars for a while, then tried again. Some are much larger than others.

Is there anything I can do?

TIA!
