I need to put an order in for some silk ribbon since I can't find any sources close by. Do you use more 4 mm or 7 mm? I just don't know what to order. Thanks. Carolyn

I've used the 4mm. Be sure to check out ebay! There's always a lot to bid on and in a variety of colors. And it's VERY reasonable compared to the stores.

I order mine from www.silkribbon.com I do use much more of the 4mm then the 7mm. I order it by 4 yards of each color at a time. This way I get many colors. I do order the ones I use most often by the spool...like rose and greens.

I have used Cam Creations and have had very good luck. You can order by the yard and the ribbon comes on spools.

try www.threadart.com

They have a very nice selection and the prices seems to be reasonable. Very good service as well.

For me I've found I use both more of the 7mm.
On the Hearts for Nickie's swap I been using some of the 4mm because of the hearts being smaller but on the blocks and the RR I use 7mm
I LOVE LOVE this Ladys threads and she just now came on with River Silks Ribbon so the next time I order I'm going to go here. Has anyone try River Silks Yet? They look like a good price Big Grin

I just look at Quiltnanny and holee place thats a really good price for 7mm at 6.99 for 25 yards. If thats to much at first you could find a friend and split the cost I may check into their ribbon to dye that sounds interesting
Thanks Ladies Big Grin

99.9% of my ribbon stash is 4mm. I really need some 7mm for larger flowers, I think I have (3) 7mm but not the right colors for flowers. Does anyone use the 13mm?
I bought mine (on the spools) from threadart.

At silkribbon.com it's only 30 cents a yard for 4m...that would be $1.50 for 5 yards.

ribbonsmyth was a huge disappointment. The buttons she sells are not real buttons, they are plastic junk in my opinion. I hated everything I bought from her and she isn't cheap. She buys & re-sells so everything is marked up, a lot.

thanks for the info on silkribbon.com; what a fun site. i previously ordered a couple colors from threatart, am satisfied with them...just Needing More! Eek i like that i could order by the yard at silkribbon.com, lotsa colors to pick from...and i got several widths in the white to try dying myself. AND if that wasn't enough - i found the book, silk ribbon embroidery bible, for $12.50 on amazon so i ordered that too. it will be a wonderful day in the neighborhood when all those goodies arrive at my door Big Grin happy sewing...
