I have made a few! I have a very old McCalls Crafts pattern that I use.
I bet there are lots of freebies available.

I've never done it , but it seems like it would be simple to purchase an inexpensive plain wooden frame and cover it with fabric, almost like making upholstry cover.

would it be more like decoupage (sp) with fabric on a wood frame? that would be cool!

I could really use some good ideas along this line too. I was recently given a really cool quilt-themed print. My first thought was to make some sort of fabric frame. Then after looking at it up close decided a plain wood frame would be best. Then thought maybe a mat with a quilt or patchwork look would be better.

I seen one made on Nancy Sews. It was made with the bottom open and just slipped over one of those clear plastic type frames.
