on beautiful Cape Cod. Heartbeat Quilts is closing after 25 years of business in Hyannis. The owner is closing to concentrate on teaching ans desinging her fabric line. I did my best to keep them in business...but I guess I didnt spend enough !! So if you are on Cape Cod this summer, try to stop in !!

Oh no -- one of my favorite quilt shops on the Cape. I'm in Truro for the summer, and usually don't venture up-Cape till after Labor Day, but now I may have to! Ruth Ann

So sad even though I have never been there.

Hate to hear of a quilt store closing, but I sure understand it. Know I am using mostly my stash these days. Where a normal fabric shopping trip would be several hundred, lately it is under $40 and usually it isn't for fabric as much as related things... Chris

Drat! Quiltbea and I talked about taking a trip there in the off season! At least we will be meeting on the 14th to attend a local quilt show and enjoying a lobster roll lunch!

i am absolutely shocked. this shop is so popular with tourists, they come in by the busloads. we go there every fall on a quilt retreat and the owner, helen, treats us to a homemade lunch and an hour long talk on quilts. she is so interesting. it is such a beautiful shop. wow.

She sent out a newsletter - She is moving on to bigger and better things - she just got engaged and is going to start a new chapter in her life. Heartbeats was one of my favorite shops on the Cape and it's sad to think it'll no longer be. I think there is only one other shop who will more than likely pick up her business - another fabulous shop called Tumbleweeds. "She said she usually cried at least one each day, not because she was sad, but because the world was so beautiful & life was so short" www.CQnickilee.blogspot.com http://www.flickr.com/photos/crazyladie/sets/ www.RavioleeDreams.Etsy.com - Come see - SPRING TIME PRETTIES are ready! 4/13

It's a shame that someone can't buy it...I'm wondering is that the Cape quilt shop that puts together kits for QUILT magazine? There's one on the Cape that does. I could go look. Many times you'll see the sample quilt and they'll offer a kit including fabrics. I'll bet it's her. Awww. I was just saying to DH it would be nice to go to the Cape as we did every year when we had the timeshare in PTown...around the 3rd week of April. Love CUFFY'S too!!

Cheryl.. That is the one... Hlen Weinmann, the owner, does design her own fabric line and patterns that can be found in many of the quilting magazines... mandy..she sends out a weekly email that tells what is going on at Heartbeat...this past week she said she is getting married again in December and that after a lot of thought, she is closing the retail operations to concentrate on her fabric lines and teaching...
