I finally got the chance to finish the Bella Bella quilt for my daughter's graduation. She now has it at college. The colors are jewel tones of dark red, green, blue, and purple. I don't know if they come through true.

What size is it? It's just gorgeous! Reminds me of the giant dahlia quilt that I have never started.

I hope no one steals it at the dorm. Eek Is her name on it? Would be hard to send this one off...so much work. You did a great job.

That is beautiful!!!! Wow!

I was just thinking like Downsouth - is her name clearly on it? I'd be so afraid it would come up missing. It is amazing - you did a great job.

what a beautiful quilt and the colors came through great. That will brighten up any dorm room and remind her of home.

Thank you. I made plexi templates to put it together instead of paper piecing and it worked quite well when I got started and had good time to concentrate on it.

When I quilted it I quilted the "made August 2008 for Micayla in the bottom white border. So that makes it definatly identifiable. It is about 75 inches square. Fits great on the top dorm bunk without hanging in the bottom person's space.

That is one beautiful quilt. I wouldn't let it out my door; I'd make the daughter come home to visit it. That way, I would have a huge grin on my face every time I walked by it. What an accomplishment!

When we trade on the 14th I think I will get her to agree to keep it here so I can enter it in the local fair this coming year. I just couldn't get it done in time this year.

Next month I will take it to class on machine quilting at my favorite quilt shop, where I got all the fabric for it.

Oh how beautiful that turned out! Simply gorgeous! If I made a treasure like that I think I'd keep it behind locked doors. Enter it in the fair... it's a winner!

I'm on the other computer so can show you the one that will be the long term college quilt.

I just need to requilt the blue border (it didn't play well) and the last border then bind it.

THAT is one stunning quilt. My "dorm quilt" was an old, stained, threadbare hand me down comforter from someone's basement or something. I bet your daughter appreciates the love in that quilt more than you'll ever know.

It's just breath taking!! How many ribbons have you won in fairs? How do you know where to start??
Was it as hard as it looks?? I would have that hanging on my wall where everyone who entered would have to see it!!

The other quilt is really nice to. Very colorful!!
