Sign ups for the retreat are full!! There will be a wait list in case anyone who has already officially signed can't attend. Our COF 2009 Retreat has been confirmed!
Here we go girls!!
We will be staying at the Highlander Inn in Manchester, NH. Are you ready to get excited!!!! Here we go – a year away but before you know it April 23, 24, 25, & 26th 2009 will be here! (Please note - the 23rd will be the early arrivals - actual Retreat will start the 24th)
For now, you can take a peek at the hotel but I ask that you do not book your hotel reservations. As soon as I hear from the Manager of the hotel that everything is set up and we have a Group # to use, I will let you know. A group rate of $109.00 + tax is being extended to our group for the period April 23-26th, 2009. If you plan on coming in a couple days early or staying a bit longer for vacation, this rate will be extended.
The Highlander is the perfect place for our Retreat. There’s plenty of place to take a nice walk, a workout room (for those of you that feel that you just HAVE to exercise LOL!), a Post Office about ½ mile down the street and the Mall of NH is about a mile away surrounded by a ton of stores and restaurants - A.C. Moore and Michaels to name a few. The Highlander is located on 33 acres of land, about a 12 minute ride to the airport and is somewhat tucked away in the woods. Just the perfect place for a bunch of rowdy chicks!
Since there are two areas to the hotel, you will have your choice of which building you would prefer. The main portion of the hotel is rather new. A string of rooms will be reserved for us – here is where you might want to stay if you want some peace and quiet or you plan on bringing your hubby. The rooms will accommodate 1-4 depending on the size. Up the hill (a very short walk) is a separate building called the Caldwell House. The rooms here are small and come with a queen bed allowing only 2 people to a room - NO cots are allowed. This building will be blocked off for us – there are only 20 rooms that will accommodate 2 and 2 rooms available for a single. This area is the older section of the hotel and is actually set up like a B&B – dorm style. I imagine the rowdy women will stay here and not much sleep will take place. Right next to this building is another building which is the conference center. By paying overtime for a security guard we will be able to use this room to sew into the wee hours of the morning (oh, I can see Jayardi sitting there alllll night LOL!)
I hope you all will understand and appreciate the guidelines that need to be made. These are being made to be fair to all concerned.
1. The maximum number of people allowed to sign up will be 60 2. Only current Board members will be allowed to sign up (for now) 3. A deposit of $150 will be needed to confirm your attendance 4. A "Wait List" will be made on a first come first serve basis should there be anyone who decides they cannot attend
At this time I would like to start taking sign ups. Your name will only be added to the list when I receive a PM from you. I will need your Board Name, Real Name, Address, email address and telephone number. I’m sure there are going to be a million questions and they will all eventually get answered – remember we have a year to go so please be patient.
One thing I would like to mention... If you are capable of sending in your deposit of $150 to secure your place at the Retreat any time soon, it would be appreciated as there will be plenty of expenses coming up that will need to be taken care of. You deposit will be put in a separate bank account explicitly marked for the COF Retreat. (deposit will cover such things as, hotel deposit, Challenge FQ, Food, COF T-shirt, bus trip and other expenses)
Pick me pick me!!! Please add me to the list. No waiting til the last minute this year, my baby won't be a baby anymore so won't have to worry about that!!

••• Nicki, if I am the only one going to be sewing in the wee hours, let's not waste our money on the security guard. On the other hand, if more will be joining me, then how is that?
Everything looks and sounds wonderful. We certainly have another great committee. Thank you ladies!

Oh... thought I would share something with you.... I worked in an office for over 30 years... over that time I earned a nickname - it was "BBB" by the time this Retreat gets rolling I think ya'll will come to find out why I earned that name/reputation LOL!
***We got hope, we got dreams but most of all... we got each other***
Sign me up, too! Looks like I'll need 2 weeks vacation for this one - too close to family not to visit for a while! (Plus a week to recouperate after the retreat )
