I took a step outside my comfort zone (colors) and created a wallhanging using vintage laces. I recently entered a contest where Judy Murrah mailed each contestant 4 pieces of her vintage laces and asked us to create something with them. The Grand prize was a little chest full of vintage laces. Well.... this morning I was notified that I won! I'm so excited to be receiving this little treasure. You can read about it here:

Nicki, that is beautiful! Congratulations on winning the contest--enjoy your super prize. Ooh la la, you will have fun with all of that lace Big Grin.

When I read the title of your post, I was thinking orange or yellow. I see the peachy colors in your piece, but it is very lovely and nicely done. Now if you really want a challenge, I can send you some bright yellow silk and some orange velvet. Should I mention that it is silk velvet? Cool

Congratulations on doing such a beautiful job on a project that you might have initially felt uncomfortable doing. It certainly does not show that you were outside your zone. I can't wait to see what you get for a prize and what you do with it.
