I saw this picture and would love to try the pattern. It is like a pinwheel but a bit different. Anyone know the name of this?

TIA

That is an interesting pinwheel, isn't it? I'd help you out with a pattern but there isn't enough of a full view of the block to see how the corners are done. Maybe someone else will be able to help.

Where'd you find it?

It almost looks as if a corner triangle was put on each of the HSTs. But in a drawing it sure doesn't look too cool.

Paus, I think you are very close. But, it looks like the little triangle doesn't go on both of the half squares. Just on the printed one. Am I right?

The designer, Camille Roskelley, called it "Dilly Dally". It's Thimble Blossoms pattern #152. She has several pictures of it on her blog including the one posted here. There is also a picture taken before quilting that is flatter and shows the construction more clearly. I don't have permission to repost so here's a link to that photo.

Paus - I think u pegged it. Look in the upper right corner at the red & blue intersection. That's the center of the edges of two blocks. Looking to the right you can see where the regular pinwheel would've met at the 'corner'. I think you are exactly right with your little triangle tip

Eta: I guess me & Martha were posting at the same time, lol. How cool to know the name & source!

Thanks, I bought the marmalade charm pack and layer cake and have been looking at patterns.

Can't decide what to do with this beautiful fabric!

Mountain Laurel: I played with a little triangle on just the printed fabric and my mind wouldn't accept that a quilter would set themself up for that kind of minor work. Just didn't feel right, you know?
