Hi,

I'm trying to find some information about a quilt i saw in an episode that screened recently in Australia. I'm looking for the quiltmakers name, or even a link to the episode.

The quilt maker was a gentleman who made the block design by using shapes that represented letters of the alphabet. The shapes were drawn in a square at different degrees of angles to form the letters. The example quilt they demonstrated making used Alex's name.

Its a very vague description, but I'm hoping someone recognises it and can point me in the right direction.

thank you.

I have no idea which one you are talking about, but if you have plenty of time you may find it on this list.Click here: Shows A - Z : Simply Quilts : Simply Quilts : Home & Garden Television

I know there is a thousand series, couldn't find it on the web site so don't know where they went. But you may be able to find them all if I point you in the right direction.

Hope this helps

Rita

I think I seen that episode. Did he also show his method of foundation piecing. I think he used a system that taking only 28 diffent shapes, he made thousands of diffent blocks. If that is the one I might have it saved on my DVR at home I'll check this evening.

Fons and Porter also showed alphabet letters that did on graph paper on a episode of Simply Quilts. They also spell out Alex. Think they paper pieced them.

I know that John Flynn did something similar on SQ. Think one that he showed was a sort of T shape that he tessalated.

Alex's site has a real good master list. www.alexandersonquilts.com Click on program guide and then master list.

Good luck in finding the episode that you are seeking.

everythingquilts, I'm so glad you posted this! I've been wracking my brain trying to remember more details about that episode so I could do a search to help out spring_showers. Here's a direct link.
