Medemo, glad that they made their way to you. Also once again thanks for doing the quilting for us. We can do it on our machines, but we don't do the quilting very nicely. We do try, but so far that is not in our skill set. Pat

Yea Maggie, more "Quilts In A Box"! That's what I call it when you send in the top, backing & binding, so all you need to do is add batting and quilt... Chris

Received a note from Maryland for the challenge with a wonderful check to help pay for batting and postage for the quilts. Many many thanks Kay-lin. And she sent a note that she is also hoping to get a top sent before or by end of challenge.
I had someone ask about when the QWL challenge will end. It is posted March 31st, but since the troops are going to be the big winners, we can always be flexable on deadline. Please just try to get mailed to me by March 31st and it arriving to me by April 5-7th. If for some reason you can not make these dates, you can alway send when it is best for you as we work year round and send all year long. Maggie

Thank you, it is, but still not sewing on the machine.

I do, however, have an appointment to train on a HQ LA next week and hope I don't have to cx that appointment!

Challenge is moving right along. Just wonderful of you ladies that are still working away helping to support the troops after all this time. The troops are for sure BIG WINNERS.
So far we have received 1 finished quilt, 6 tops with two backs and 4 added bindings, and 73 blocks. Altho we break down the quilt and tops into block count. The funds will cover the added expenses very well and then some. Thank you ladies for ALL you do. Maggie

Thanks KC, I wil watch out for it's arrivial and let you know.
QWL received a great box from Chris today in the mail. I have added her block count to the list in the first post. But sure does not post all she sent. She sent two beautiful tops along with backing and binding for both of them. Also a matching pillowcase for them both. And a large stack of red, white and blue pillowcases to go with the quilts that have none. The count was 27 for those cases. Huge thanks Chris to you and your hubby.

Maggie, your work in keeping this going is amazing. The fact that I have not sent you anything in a long time does not mean that I am no longer concerned about our troops. Instead I am involved with some things on a local level. One of the most recent was to give a quilt to a local hero when he returned home from "over there" as a welcome home/thank you for your service gift. I will soon start hand quilting a raffle quilt with the prceeds going to a memorial fund of a serviceman who gave his all. I also participate in my guild's project of making quilts for QOV. I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging, just want you to know I am still doing things for our troops and admire you for what you do

Mary Lou, thank you so much for those kind words. It is nice to hear from you and also some of your works you are doing. I know there are many on here that work in so many others ways than with QWL and I think that is fantastic. There are so many good organizations out there to work with and give to help. This is just one small project helping to support and comfort and also say Thank You to those serving. I personally think it takes ALL working in their own ways to get the job done. I appreciate your beautiful quilt help in the past and know that those receiving the works you do now will also appreciate it also.
I just keep working away here doing what I can and post some on the works. This is a project for thoses that want to help but don't know where to go or in which way. Just a choice for them to make wheither to help QWL or chose another wonderful project or group to work with. I do keep posting here as this is where QWL project started on Sept.25,2003. A lot has gone on in the passing years but this project just keeps giving and giving of the wonderful, loving quilts to those in need. We have a request of over 120 quilts now that have come from the tr@@ps themselves. So we here have plenty of work ahead to get those done. We have many that don't give blocks, tops,or funds to the QWL project, but do keep up the prayers for the project as well as the troops. It takes us all in so many ways to help.
Thanks again for posting and leting those here know just some of what you are doing to help in your way. Hugs, Maggie

I'm so proud of her I could bust all my buttons!!! My only claim to her project is that I showed her how to make her first block. That's it. She was off and running. Now that she's retired she does more (!!!!) You ought to see the baby blankets, booties, sweaters, quilt tops and bitty outfits for the preemies that go to Heav*n! Smile Smile
