Well, I made this a few years back, but it made it through another winter....that makes me happy! This was my old birdbath that had a crack and wouldn't hold water any more. I used marbles, coins, broken china and some little tiles I got at a garage sale.

I really like that. I want to do a mosaic but, I'm afraid to grout. I know what a silly thing to be afraid of. But, thats me silly silly silly
Someday I will get brave and try it. But, then I'm afraid that I'll be addicted. Boy, do I have issues or what. Roll Eyes

junkgirl, your birdbath is a real beauty. i did one about 5 yrs ago and it has deteriorated badly. i've been trying to scrape the old stuff off so i can redo it but that's proving to be quite a task. do you have any advice for sealing the finished project?
walkie, try a small project first if you give mosaics a try. it's really one of my most favorite things in the world to do!!!

Thanks everyone.
Don't feel bad cwalkie......I glued all the pieces on this and then let it sit a year because I was chicken to grout! But you know it wasn't all that hard and even kind of fun!

Maggiejoe, I used a sealer from Lowes that said it was safe for countertops and other places where food was prepared...so it would be safe for the birds. And I guess it is because we haven't had a problem with sick birdies around.

I think it would be good to bring the mosaiced part in in the winter, but we have just been leaning it against the tree so it couldn't collect water. So far we've been using it for about 3 years.

what a "cool" way to salvage, and since it was already the correct depth for birds [ <2" ] that makes it great, You left enough grout for non-slip of their little feet too, which is essential it it's really in use.

p.s. love the dress
