I have the 2 long sides ( front and back with wooden spindles) which were trashpicked -- they are something I of course cannot part with bc I know they can be turned into something neat!!
any suggestions would be very appreciated! Smile

You could make a bench out of it like we do with the headboards. Smile

If you have a king-sized bed they would make a really creative headboard.

I love spindles.. I would take them out and use them in separate smaller projects such as these....

cup/spindle feeder

Spindle birdhouse (my favorite)

hanger(just page down)

HTH - Hope this helps...

ETA - I just realized they mentioned Margo... Robo can post a link to her page as well with a ton of spindle ideas too!

My husband made a toy box/seat from the two ends of a crib, and Jenny Lind style one (spindles) and it turned our very cute for our DGS #9 Used the one end for the back and built a box and used the other end for the sides.

Cut them in half so they are not too long....then put get two long pieces of narrow board and attach the top end of a short spindle to the top board, and the bottom of the spindle to the bottom board...make as long as you can for whatever space you have, and you have a spandrel. Then attach a corner bracket on each end of the bottom. Almost like the victorian fretworks. If you do not want to attach to living/dining...or...kitchen/family room area.

I turned crib side longways like a ladder and hung it from wooden drapery pole supports to make a wall hung quilt rack.

Hi from Alabama. My husband cut 1 in half, mounted both pieces, one in front of the other about a foot apart in a cabinet. It is wonderful to keep my cookie sheets and casserole dishes on it. He installed them verticle. Im sure the other way would work too though.

I've been collecting cribs, have 5 right now, to use for an arbor. Don't know just yet how I'm going to make it work, but that's what I see when I look at them.
good luck,
Rose

I have a metal crib side, just leaning on the wall in the bathroom. We hang magazines on the rails...makes a neat little magazine rack
