On Decorating Cents the trash to treasure guy showed Joan how to use a sander to make a piece of glass so you can't see through it. I want to do that on my entertainment center so you can't see all the junk behind the glass doors. I tried it on a junk piece of glass with the roughest piece of sandpaper we had (used an orbital sander) and it didn't even scratch the glass! I tried to do a search but didn't find it. Can anybody help me?? Thanks!!

didn't see that episode, but you can get a can of Frost glass spray Finish for glass that you can use on the inside of the glass to make it have that etched or frosted look.

There is also 'etching cream' that is a harsh chemical that will permanently etch the glass.

Another suggestion, depending on the effect you are hoping for, is to paint the glass. I have a table made from an old window that I painted the panes different pale colors with acrylic craft paint. It was very inexpensive and very beautiful. I hope you post a photo for us when you get this finished.

Gallery glass has a frosted glass product too. The good thing about that is its not permanent so you can wash it off if you ever change your mind. I used it on my entertainment center and its been several years and still looks good as new. I think I'm going to scrape it off though now and try something different Smile

I also saw an episode (don't remember which show -- maybe Dec. Cents) where they laid down a lace curtain and then sprayed frost finish on a mirror.
