Hello all,

I found this on the curb and thought I might be able to find a creative use for it - after a good clean and a coat of paint! - but I'm curious as to what it's intended use was.

The top is flat inside the slanted rim and it's got notches evenly spaced along the back raised rim plus a raised bar across the flat top separating it into 1/3 and 2/3. Inside the two shelves are two rows of four poles/columns, one behind the other.

I have no idea what this was built to be! It looks kind of like a dictionary stand except that the top is flat, not slanted downwards, and there are those columns on the shelves! I'm stumped. Do you know?

Thank you for your help!

I'd say a combination wine rack (top shelf) record album stand. Very 50's, 60's, 70's looking.

Would that not put the wine bottles in the opposite direction of the way they are suppose to be stored?

I think record albums below make sense but I don't know about the top. Interesting.

Possibly a portable record player on the top.

This could be a lectern or maybe a projector stand/cabinet. Put these ideas on Google and click on images. Interesting piece.

I would say it is a phone stand.
