Big Grin Wink Just had to make a couple of totems when I see so many of you having fun with them!

These are quite plain but I was limited to what I could find last Saturday at the YS's. The clear one may get a decorative "something" on the top when I find it. They are decorating my decks for now as in zone 3 the garden is just waking up and lots of plants have not poked their little heads up yet.

Bought more glass than I have used so wonder what I'll do with it! Wink Can you see more totems coming into my world! Big Grin Roll Eyes I am planning to make some "tea-lights" for around my patio as I sold them all at last summer's YS.

Might help to post the pic! Big Grin

Joy.... they are so darn cute! You did an awesome job!
I finally have mine (bluebird of happiness) finished. But I didn't want to put it out last weekend with "Louie" here! lol No telling what might have happened to it!
Thanks for sharing! I have a lot of "found" glassware sitting out on the patio that I need to wash.... hmmm maybe I'll go do that now!

Joy.... I washed my freebies... the largest one in the back is 15 inches tall!
The two in the front are antique milk bottles.

I found these while digging in a shed, I'm sure there were more great finds, but a possum scared me off!
Yep, while I was reaching for some canning pots, I stared face to face with a possum. I screamed and ran, my friend screamed and ran. We jumped over garbage, and after a few seconds she said "rat?" and I said NO POSSUM! Then we looked back to the garbage and wondered.... "how did we get over all that garbage?" LOL

Thanks for the nice comments, I'm afraid I'm getting back into loving making totems! Will try to restrain myself this year tho and keep it to a reasonable number. Wink

Gail, your freebie glassware is TDF!!! Altho you probably paid for it with adrenaline! Big Grin Some glass is just too nice, and sometimes too valuable, to use for totems. One glass item I bought for 15¢ I found online for $15.00 so I haven't used it yet on a totem. Doesn't mean it's really worth that I know, but I consider totems a good use for mostly worthless glass. I once used a vintage sugar bowl which was worth more than a few dollars (I had probably paid 25¢ or less for it) but it's not a rare item. That 15" tall piece will make an awesome totem if you use it.

Big Grin LOL - I really DID NOT invent glass garden totems, so disavow any responsibility for this addictive craft! So glad others are finding them as fun as I do tho. Now if only I could easily find an outlet to sell them I'd have myself a full-time job! Oh, wait, I forgot for a moment... I'M RETIRED and don't want a full-time job! Wink

You are too modest... yes I've seen them before.

But not until I've seen acouple of Lucky's totems... Ok one day she went on this posting frenzy... remember.. she posted like 1/2 a dozen// then the lightbulb went "bling" and I have been collecting glass for totems ever since.... LOL

No job, no pressure... just homage where it's due Joy!

But YES - I adore this renewed interested in it.. I almost forgot I had those darn materials... I guess I have to return to the beginning of my list... and just in time.. I have a show in a couple of weeks... An "Artist" show for an "ART WALK" in town... Hmmmm... could be a nice piece for these artsy type w/ mulah.... (although I would charge much) Just enough to make it appear important - but not so much to get walked by w/out a second glance....
