    Hi,
I want to make a nameplate and put it on my front door. But it is always very windy. so I cannot hang it, as it would always fly way. I am also not sure with which material I should make this name plate. Because I cannot use cardboard as I said it will not stand the wind. So any suggestions...

    Thanks and Regards,
    Buchi

Wood might be the material of choice as it's easy to work with, not as heavy as some other materials and can be easily attached. You can get really nicely shaped unfinished wooden plaques to paint on at most craft stores. Just make sure you clear coat it well to withstand the weather.

You will need to attach the sign at the bottom as well as the top so it doesn't blow in the wind. On a metal door you can use those magnetic holders, on wood you can use cuphooks or nails.

I have a small chalkboard on the outside of the house and it was always blowing in the wind so DH attached it at the bottom as well. No more noises at nite to freak me out!
