I've paid as little as $2 for one that was in poor condition to as much as $15 for one in beautiful condition.
And I generally sell them for $20 to $50, depending on condition and what I paid for them.
I'd have to live someplace with a very different economic environment for me to consider giving more than $20 for one.
But then, I don't really like them for myself, I only buy them to polish up and resell. And I want to resell them fast, I don't like hanging onto something like that for several months waiting for a buyer who'll pay a higher price.
I figure I like a bargain, so if I can sell my stuff cheap, someone else appreciate the low price and will buy it fast, and that has proved to be true for me.
But ymmv, as what's low in your area may be much higher than what we think is a low price in mine.

It sounds like hers may be walnut or mahogany and with excellent finish. That is a retail price, a little on the high side.., for my area. I paid $25 for a decent one last week. It was at the Habitat for Humanity store and I felt the money went to a good cause. All I had to do was clean it up and paint it. White of course, with a ring of roses. I put $68 on it for the shop. I do think I paint for free sometimes. Original handpainted decorative art?
