ok. found this picture of a purse made out of the nestle nesquick containers...looks to be pretty simple, but no where does it mention how to attach the lid, so would assume the lid just pops on, pops off...the thing with this is, my daughter would surely lose the lid, so was wondering if any of you can come up with an idea of how to attache the lid to the container.
how about if you ran the raffia, ribbon or whatever type of cording trim you put around the top of the container, thru 2 holes you 'punched' into the lid? It wouldn't have to be an extremely long section but it could be sewn into a loop to keep it attached.
You could cut a piece of leather from an old shoe or boot and punch holes in the leather and container (match up the holes in the piece of leather and the container) then take a leather shoe lace and attach the leather to the container. The leather will last for as long as the container does.

Pretty purse, to attach the lid just punch a hole in lid and side of purse and add a ribbon and tie in a bow. Then you can just use the other side to open it up and snap shut, never have to redo the bow.

I think I want to do one of those for myself. It's got my imagination running wild.
I'm thinking I could use a baking cocoa container fixed like that for a camera case. (I have a cheap camera and it didn't come with a case and I don't like those soft little bags that don't portect the camera.)
Great idea gardengirl! I think I will try one myself. Ladygodiva I liked your purse, guess I will have to start using Nestle chocolate but I know mine wont come out that good.

With two little grandkids living with us, and a couple of cups of Quik in the AM, we go through a lot of those containers (well, actually to the point we started buying the big container!), and me... not being able to throw anything away... (you should see my collection of the plastic coffee containers, and tin ones too!) What a cool idea! (*"*)

Hi Lady G. Could you attach the lid with a couple of strips of narrow ribbon? Glue the ends of the ribbon to the lid an dthe other ends to the container. The middle of the ribbon could be the "hinge". Then she wouldn't lose it.Maybe use the same thing you used to make the handle. Only shorter. J.
