DianneE- What are things you like to do or collect while shopping? I live in the panhandle of florida and when I go to different parts of the country I always look for antique shops. After being in several ones in the northern states and then coming south and going to antique shops I was amazed with the different things. Not sure but if antiques are something that interest you. I would do a google search for antique shops in jacksonville, there seems to be plenty. Have fun in the sun.

Last time we went to a big city I just looked up Antiques Stores, Second Hand Stores, Thrift Shops, Architectural Salvage in the yellow pages, made a list and marked them on a map. The funny thing is that we found nothing we wanted to buy until we just happened to drive by a place that was holding a sale for a charity and found a couple of things there.
Another source I occasionally use is to google the city, find the newspapers for that area and check out the classifieds for yard sales. Just copy and paste and you've got your list. It also pays to get a paper when you get there as there are always some late listings.
Good thrifting!

Thanks for the replys I do use internet, newspapers etc., what kind of a junker would I be if I didnt start there? I am sorry I should have been more specific. Has anyone been to a great junk shop not overpriced or gross? Or any of the fleamarkets that sell stuff other than sweatsocks and dollar store stuff? I was just told about Yahoo maps and oh my gosh typed in Jack and thriftshops and got a list and a map with them numbered on the map! I feel like I won the lottery! Thanks
