I drove by a house with a new fence and thought to myself, I wonder what they did with their old fence. So I circled the block and saw a whole pile of 4' white pickets. No one was home but they had a van for sale in the driveway and the phone number was on it. I called and after some phone tag, they said I was welcome it take all I wanted. I went on my lunch hour today and loaded up. I will post a photo of the birdhouses I will make out of them.

Picket fence makes me Smile Big Grin. I am glad you drove back by. What a shame to think it could have been trashed. Can't wait to see the photos.

I'd love to find some pickets, but here in the SW fences are walls of stucco and block. Can't wait to see what you do with them. I think I'd use them in my garden.

The folks that gave me the picket fence called and said they also have three gates I can pick up when they are ready to remove them. I think I hit the jackpot. I think I will give them a birdhouse made from their pickets. People are funny though, they either love my stuff or can't imagine why anyone would want something made from junk. To each his own. I hope they will like it though.

    Wow...Lucky you! Smile

A house down the street replaced their fence as well, but unfortunately the people who put up the fence, took the old fence with them. I was so hoping to snag it.Frown
