We went to the Restore today and we got all the chair rail we need for two dollars. It was new just alittle dirty. The dirt will come off and the paint will go on. Can't wait to get it on the walls. We have to figure out at what height we are going to place the rail.

I'm so envious, Pat. Great find.

I went to their website, re-store dot org (I'm afraid to post a link for fear it will be deleted), and I see they're only in the Washington area.

I wish they had a group near me. I have so much stuff I'd donate to them. I use freecycle, but that's always a big question mark as to whether the person who says they want it will come get it.

And also, it would be great just to give them the garage full of stuff instead of pulling it out one piece at a time and offering it on freecycle.

Anyway, good for you. Thank you for sharing about that great group of people and their wonderful work.

Do you have a Salvation Army or some charity that will come and get all the stuff you want to give away?
I didn't know that the Restore is only in Washington State. It would be nice if they opened stores in other states. I'm sure there are alot of people in other states that will donate to them. Our store is only open 4 days a week and their parking lot is always full of cars on thoughs days. Maybe we can talk Jimmy Carter into starting Restores in other states. I'm sure it wouldn't be as hard as building on a house. Big Grin

    Have a nice day.

That is a great bargin, you lucked out. We have 2 Habitat for Humanity Stores that we get great bargins at, and they will also take donations.

We use freecycle a lot to give away stuff, there is always someone who needs it, if you don,t. Also we have our yearly church garage sale that takes almost anything. I will do anything I can to keep it out of the dumping grounds. We recycle much of our trash too.

Actually, I have given away tons of stuff on freecycle. It's a great resource.

Still, the re-store looks like a very cool place.

Thanks for posting this! I needed a piece of molding to add to my table and didn't think of going there until I read your post. I got an 8 ft piece for $2. I would have spent a lot more at another store.

We have one in the Portland, Oregon area. I haven't been able to get over there yet - but I can hardly wait!

I am glad others are getting good deals at the Restore like we have. It is good for our wallets and helps a good cause.

    Good hunting
