sadly last eve the weather was bad and my head board and foot board was knocked over and some damage was done, but my brother says with ties, wood glue, and a nice coat of paint, it will be hard to see.

thank you all for the encouragement and help

When I first saw your topic title, " Bench Of Encouragement", something just drew me in and then the pictures. It's so cute that your daughter wanted to name the bench. I'm sure you will think of something great to name it. How about just some words, like Courage, Inspire, Encourage, Believe, Success, Friends, etc?

Clueless, I want one, too. But no one throws anything to the curb here. And the TS are way over priced...sigh.

thank you maryann, your words are most kind...as for the head/foot board, it is not from the curbside, it belong to my 3 1/2 yr old g'son, who was to rowdy on it, his pawpaw bought him a nice sturdy set of bunks..after being stored in my hubbies shop a year, i thought with everything you all was doing i would use it for a bench...it is an ethan allen product, so guess it is ok quality.

but just so you all know, i added the small side boards that my slats for the seat will lay upon, i was like, oh yeah, oh yeah and did a lil happy dance, laughs...so soon i hope to have a finish photo.

WOW!! Wonderful bench!! I like the idea of naming it. Out of the mouths of babes! Sometimes their ideas are very valuable, and this is! I like the idea of Encouragement, could always sit there when needing inspiration Wink And remember to enjoy it when your done! GREAT JOB
