I'm hesitant to make a suggestion to someone as brilliant and talented as you obviously are, but I thought of something while looking at your photos.
You said you cut the beadboard too short and will have to buy more to replace it.
It seems like such a small opening at the top and bottom, I wonder if a couple of pieces of quarter-round or other small trim boards cut-to-fit -- one for the top and one for the bottom -- would correct that problem without requiring you to replace the whole back.
At any rate, it's a cool piece, thanks for sharing it with us.
I'm particularly inspired by your ability to start and finish a project in one day. I have a dozen items going at all times, and while the paint is drying on one thing, I get inspired to start another.
Then I'll be missing something I need for the second one, and I start sanding on a third piece. And while I'm waiting for just the right element to complete projects No. 1, 2 and 3, I find something else that's just too cool not to start on immediately.
Meanwhile the grass needs to be cut and I'm "supposed" to be painting my garage...
Fantastic YS finds and a great 6th project - I'll be waiting for the 7th!

I've had similar thoughts during your "whirlwind" week of projects, bec! You have been a great inspiration to many, I'm sure! Of course I'm still sitting here instead of doing my projects! Have a good excuse now IMO - can't mess up my clean house!!! LOL Fortunately my DH is better at completing projects than I am so once I plan one for him it gets done!
Another great project. I think this may just be my new favorite It's been such fun to see your goodies each day, and I admire your determination to stick with your challenge! Great Job! TFS
Thanks for the idea Ringo. I actually did think of this, but decided I wanted "full coverage" on the back to help with stability. It is pretty solid now, but I find that having a solid back piece helps even more. But thanks for the suggestion . The red is a basic bright red craft acrylic paint (I use Delta and buy the tubs of it). I always use the craft paint for red because it takes too many coats of a latex paint to get the right shade of red--this only takes one. Then I use walnut gel stain over the top. There was white underneath the red because the shuttters were already white.
