My daughter has Stanley furniture that was mine when I was a child. I plan to paint it to spruce it up and give it a fresh look. But here is the problem, several of the drawers are broken. The plastic glides are broken so when the drawer is opened it falls forward and rest on the floor. Any ideas how to fix this? Is it something I can do or should I find someone to fix it for me?
    TIA

The hardware and materials to fix drawers is available at Lowes. I just fixed two drawers in one chest and am planning on fixing two in a large dresser.

Look carefully at the existing setup to see how high the drawer support is. If you drop the new support lower, the drawer will sit lower and not match the spacing between the other drawers. Well that is about as clear as mud.

When we moved, my DH *accidentally* took the drawers to one of our dressers to the dump, sooooooo....

....I bought 8 baskets from Pier 1 (2 for each opening) and used them instead of the drawers - it looks cool and works great! Wink

Simply replace what was there. Should be able to locate them at a home improvement store. Were they the glides on the underside of the drawer and then inside the dresser in the middle?
