I am remodeling a small bathroom. Does wainscoting make it look smaller? Also if you have wood doors that have stain in hallway. If I wanted to do bathroom in wainscoting in a painted color wouldn't trim look bad with stained door? Help on this matter. All help appreciated.

I love wainscoting in a bathroom, I would do a gloss white. You can leave the inside of the door stained but I would paint the wood work. Essentially the way you decide what part of the door jamb to paint is everything on the room side of the door stop molding is painted. That is my just my opinion.
