We are building house after 31 years of dreaming. I want to get it perfect. My style tends to lean towards transitional. My kitchen will have a mission/arts crafts style. I'm having trouble deciding on floor and cabinet color. I like the look of medium to dark stain but want to keep the over all look bright. I had hoped to have medium handscraped wood floors throughout the very open living dining and kitchen space. My favorite wood for cabinets is maple in a medium tone. My question is how can I keep the wood and medium tones without getting to dark or matchy? Thanks Lori
