I keep seeing that a master bath should have two sinks. I have 43 inches of space that is occupied by one sink. Should I replace it with two pedestal sinks? Otherwise, I'd have to change the footprint of the area and lose a closet.

It depends on the look you want and how much storage you need. I would rather have a larger vanity than two pedestals. I would talk with a plumber to see what is possible.

Is there some way to attach a photo? There's a photo I've got that shows a sink with a small wooden cabinet under it.

you can show a picture by posting a link to a photobucket or fliker type account...
i would not give up the storage and counter space of a vanity just to have 2 sinks - especially if it is 2 pedestal sinks... ~~~becca~~~~ |

We have a 48 inch counter but I still wouldn't consider two sinks. Picture two people side by side with their elbows sticking out. I don't think 43 inches would be enough room. The lack of counter space, the loss of cabinet space and the plumbing headaches of installing pedestal sinks would keep me from doing this. I'm with Becca on this one. If you want two sinks go for it, but if you are considering it because "that's the way other people are doing it" I would save my money. Not everyone wants two sinks and shoving a second sink into a small bathroom is not necessarily adding value (or a guaranteed return on your investment). Some bathrooms are just one person bathrooms.
