I live in a mobile home. I have a seperate shower and tub. I'm replacing the shower with a new one but there is nothing wrong with the tub. I just don't like the color. (kinda beige looking) The new shower stall is white. What I was wondering is if I could paint this instead of replacing it. It's a garden tub. It seems to made out of some type of heavy plastic. Anyone know if it possible?

TIA
Kris

My daughter lives in a mobile too and when she bought it the tub was shot but could not afford to get new one. Home Depot sells a kit to redo the tub. Even change colors. I think we paid 25.00 for it. She has 2 bathrooms so she could let it set up for about a week. Now it is her kids bathroom and holding up just fine. Hope that helps

Painting a tub yourself, any kind, is not a good idea.
Due to the constant moisture and scrubbing the paint will eventually peel and end up looking worse.

There are companies that will refinish tubs for you. Their results vary so if you go this route check out their work.
Even with it professionally done it won't be as durable as the original finish and will require special care.

This has been discussed many times here. Right above the first post is a button labeled "Find". Use it to do a further search on this subject.
